Brandon felt the air was a little strained when he and Martha slipped back into the wedding reception.
"Well you missed a bombshell," Charlie said in a loud whisper as the couple sat down and settled.
"Was there a terrible revelation during the speeches?" Brandon whispered back, leaning in intrigued. He lightly placed his hand on Martha's leg, feeling the layers of delicate material that made up her dress. He wanted to lift it up...
"Kind of," Charles said moving forward, breaking Brandon's train of thought, "The groom announced he was taking his bride on a surprise honeymoon to Mexico," Charles rolled his eyes and pouted.
"That sounds lovely," Martha said, making Brandon tingle as she moved her index finger up his thigh in a firm line before placing it enticingly close to his groin. She smiled sweetly at him and he smirked as he narrowed his eyes at her. He realised she knew exactly what she was doing to him.
"That's not it," Charles said dramatically, "They are going in a few hours and your ex and his new girl are going too! You should have seen Lauren's face!"
"Oh shit!" Martha said glancing over at Lauren, who was talking intensely to her new husband.
"I thought they were having their honeymoon here in Vegas?" Brandon asked suddenly aware of the little v at the top of Martha's lips, as she turned to look at him. He wanted to kiss her badly.
"Yes they were, but obviously other plans have been made!" Martha said turning to look back over at the top table, which she had declined to sit at. Lee and her were sitting stony faced, casting glances between Lauren and Greg and each other. Lauren suddenly stood up and made her way over towards Martha, her lips set in a straight line.
"Have you heard what is happening?!" She said as she leaned between Martha and Brandon's chairs.
"Yeah, a surprise honeymoon to Mexico?" Martha said trying to be positive, even though she knew her friend was angry.
"I'm trying to be grateful, but I am not organised for a fucking trip to Mexico, because we are here in Vegas!" Lauren's voice slipped into an angry whisper, "I need you to help me get packed up, because we leave in two hours! I don't even know if I'll get my first dance!" Lauren said her eyes filling with tears.
"Why don't you have your first dance now?" Brandon suggested, turning in his chair to look at Lauren. "Do it before the meal?"
"Good idea Brandon!" Lauren said her face lighting up, "We can dance now and then Martha you could help me get ready just after the meal?" Lauren had swept off before Martha had time to respond.
"Well done you!" Martha grinned at Brandon making his heart beat faster.
"Yeah, but then I was worried she was going to ask me to sing!" Brandon laughed leaning into Martha as she laughed back.
After a little commotion Lauren and Greg were dancing on the dimly lit dance floor with people gazing on, with phones and cameras ready. The music trickled out of the speakers that were dotted around the room. Their band wasn't ready so a CD had been found. Celine Dion serenaded them as they shuffled around the floor. It wasn't what Lauren wanted, but she seemed to enjoy the moment.
"I promise I won't make inappropriate surprise honeymoon plans, if you promise our first dance will not be to Celine Dion," Brandon whispered in Martha's ear as she stood with her back to him watching the bride and groom. He had his arms wrapped around her waist and he was enjoying the feeling of her body leaning against his.
"That is a deal!" Martha giggled as she tilted her head up towards his, wrapping her hand up around his neck as he kissed her. She turned around fully to get further into their kiss. Brandon felt the skin on his neck
respond to the delicate touch of her fingers as he felt the room disappear, until they were the only ones left.
Brandon smiled at her, gazing into her eyes as they pulled apart."Stop eating each other and sit down for some real food," Charles said as the room was settling in their seats for the meal.
"I am starving!" Martha declared as she sat down, still keeping her eyes on Brandon.
"Me too!"Brandon giggled as he sat comfortably letting his thigh touch Martha's leg under the table. The magnetism between them was becoming intense.
They joked with Martin and Charles as they ate their food, enjoying each other's company. Brandon was working hard to make sure Martha felt happy and free from worrying about her ex husband. He was relieved to notice she didn't look over at Lee or even sneak a glance. Brandon knew she was feeling the same as him and he loved her little smiles and burned under the touches and traces of her fingers.
Martha stood up as she saw Lauren making her way over.
"I'll be back soon," Martha said as she kissed Brandon's cheek and squeezed his shoulders. Brandon watched as Martha and Lauren disappeared out of the reception room. He suddenly felt lonely without her, how did he ever get by without her before. He asked Charlie and Martin what they wanted to drink and made his way over to the bar. He stood casually leaning against the wooden bar as he waited for his order.
"Hey man," A voice said from behind him, "I am a really big fan!" Lee said as he slapped Brandon on the arm. He was a little drunk and he swayed gently before regaining his balance.
"I'm not really a fan of yours," Brandon said with a superior tone.
"Well you should be, because if I hadn't fucked up she would still be with me instead of you," Lee slurred, "You should be grateful for my mistake," Lee continued unaware that his present girlfriend was beside him at the bar.
"I am grateful Martha is with me and I can spend my time showing her how amazing she is," Brandon said making eye contact with her.
"Yep, she sure is that!" Lee said his voice tinged with regret.
Brandon walked away with his drinks balanced on a tray, knowing the fallout from that conversation was not going to be pleasant. He shot a look back when he sat down to see Lee and her having a very animated discussion. Brandon almost felt sorry for the guy.
After what felt like a very long time Martha returned with Lauren who had changed out of her wedding dress. The band were playing, but everyone was hugging the bride and groom as they were ready to leave.
"Thank you for doing this for me," Lauren said holding Martha's face in her hands, "I love you," She said as she hugged her tight.
Lauren moved on and out of the room along with her fellow travellers. Brandon pulled Martha in for a hug.
"I'm so proud of you for doing this today and for being brave enough to break away from everything you knew," He buried his face in her neck causing her to giggle deliciously, "Thanks for taking a chance on me."
"Yeah, I suppose you were worth a gamble, even if I had to wait a bit longer for the payout" Martha grinned wickedly, "Talking of something worth waiting for..." Martha pulled away from Brandon to reveal something in the palm of her hand. Brandon felt a jolt of desire run right to his crotch as he realised what it was.
"Lauren said it's booked for two nights and we deserve it," Martha giggled, rising up on her tip toes and letting a breathless moan escape her lips right next to Brandon's ear.
Brandon felt another bolt of electricity jar his body. He looked at Martha his eyes ablaze with desire, he took her hand and almost marched her to the elevator. Martha but her lip as she pressed the button for the correct floor. Brandon was kissing her before the doors had even closed. They kissed each other hungrily, their tongues moving against each other, their breathing coming hard and heavy as they finally felt free to show their feelings. Once the doors had opened they ran along the corridor holding hands. Martha took what she had shown Brandon not moments before and used it to open the door of the honeymoon suite.
