Brandon opened his truck door and gestured for Martha to get in with a little bow. Martha laughed as she got in and put her seat belt on. The nerves in her stomach had turned to butterflies, but she was trying hard to ignore them. "It's only business, that's it," She thought to herself as Brandon pulled himself into the truck and almost knocked her out with a sexy grin.
"Thought we were going to have to get you a ladder, there!" Brandon laughed, as he pulled out on to the road.
"Very funny! I almost forgot I'll need to design you a pair of heels so you can look the same height as your band mates!" Martha answered raising her eyebrow.
Brandon smiled keeping his eyes on the road. He drove up to a queue of traffic and tapped his thumb on the steering wheel. He looked at Martha with big eyes.
"I need dancing shoes and I find it very difficult to dance in heels!" Brandon said with a serious face, "Oh, and I can do the eyebrow thing too." He smirked, raising his eyebrow and looking sideways at Martha.
Martha grinned like an idiot, but she managed to regain control of her face as they drove down the freeway towards Henderson.
"Are you going to Utah for the holidays?" Martha thought a normal conversation might stop the flirting.
"I'm in Vegas for Christmas and in Utah for New Year's," Brandon said, "What about you? Heading to Scotland for a white Christmas?"
"I'm working right up to Christmas, so I'll be here for that, but I'm heading back to Scotland for the New Year." Martha explained.
Brandon nodded as he concentrated on driving through the streets of Henderson. Martha gave him directions, but it was like he already knew where to go. As the top of Martha's street there were some swanky apartments that had a view of the golf course and beyond into the desert. Brandon pointed up to the first block.
"That's where I live," He smiled, "right at the top."
Martha laughed, "We live on the same street?!" She shook her head, "That is so weird."
"Well, now you know, no coming to my door in the middle of the night unless it is an emergency!" Brandon smiled.
Martha's stomach flipped at the thought of sleepy Brandon saving her from some midnight drama.
"This is me," Martha pointed to her little house at the end of the street.
"This house used to belong to one of my teachers," Brandon said, turning his body to face her, "It suits you," He smiled.
"Do you want to come in?" Martha asked with her eyebrows raised.
Her heart started to beat fast and loud as she waited for him to decline, she couldn't believe she had asked him into her house!
"Sure!" He nodded, "I'd love to see where Miss Rossi lived," He smiled and winked at her as he got out of the truck.
It took a few seconds for it to sink into Martha's consciousness, that Brandon Flowers was about to come into her house. She climbed out the truck and opened the little metal gate that led into her garden.
"Just ignore the mess and any sort of band posters you might see on the walls," Martha said as she led the way to her bright yellow front door.
"Cool door!" Brandon said as he touched the yellow paint with his long fingers.
"I wanted to paint it gold, but the paint was too expensive!" Martha laughed as she opened the door and stepped into the hallway.
Martha walked through into her living room and Brandon followed her. She felt the butterflies return as she turned to see Brandon unzipping his jacket gazing all around the room.
