Cross had gone back to the village before the end of the week, which did surprise the people. It wasn't often that he would make two trips to them within the same month, not unless he was stocking up. He always seemed to know when disaster would strike and which items would be needed, so the people watched to see what he would grab. Yet, instead of grabbing food or metals that could be used in his weapons, he took books and children's games?

The people wanted to know why he had gathered those items when they knew neither Chara nor him would use either. The children's games were clearly too old for him and Chara, the village also hadn't seen either sibling actually read a book. Sure, the two may know how to read and all that, but the books he had grabbed were the expensive ones that most of the town couldn't read.

Now, the skeleton blacksmith knew that going into the town for the items was a risky and a suspicious move, but he didn't really know what else to do. His sibling would be back soon and they would bring with them another order of weapons or weapons that needed to be cleaned and whatever. Meaning, he wouldn't have time to go into the town nor would he be able to without drawing eyes from Chara.

Unlike the town's people, they would bluntly ask the questions that they want. They would either keep asking till he tells them or they would try and figure it out themselves. Now, the only reason they don't try and figure out what he does when he gets the Letters, is because he had yelled at them once about it. He's not proud of that moment and he had panicked. He should've handled it better, but at least they were now quiet about the Letters.

Shaking his head, the white clad monster walked down the dead paths, carrying both the newly bought items along with some leftover stew he had made the other night. He had been bringing some of it over so Night would have something decent to eat.

Over the past while, he had also been trying to figure out what Night liked. Not really in food wise as he seemed willing to eat anything editable, but in jewelry. He had been so distracted with everything else that he had forgotten about making the jewelry!

Soon, the large manor was upon him. The outside still looked like shit, but one of the collapsed towers wasn't as collapsed. The steps weren't as steep as before either. The main difference was now inside the building.

The main hallway still had that sun-bathed carpet and everything covered in dust, but it was less of that. The carpet no longer showed your footprints for too long, the only way to really say you were there was by the displacement of the dust around you. Moving down the hallways to one of the studies that Nightmare likes, Cross noted that the hallway's walls weren't as cracked nor rotten as before either. This made him smile some.

Sure, it was a very slow process, but the manor was becoming more and more livable. Hopefully, this change can continue to the physical grounds outside. Eventually, the white clad monster wants the other to be able to take care of themselves and have something more to do than just read or play with children's toys.

"Hey, Nighty!" The pale skeleton called out, seeing the large monster reading another damaged book. He was sure Night had already read all of the books that were in the castle, or at least the majority of them. "I brought somethings!"

The gooey monster looked up at the other, relaxing some after having tensed. He was still not use to someone being at the castle, nor was he use to Cross's ability to keep him self hidden so well. It was a bit disturbing how well Cross was able to hide his presence.

"Yes?" He looked down at the large bag that the other was holding. What could the other have bought?

Quickly and happily, the shorter monster pulled out a number of things, most of them being books and children's toys. However, Nightmare was intrigued by the items. They looked fun... The white clad monster laughed a little, offering a puzzle type of toy to the older monster.

Slowly, the giant monster took the toy, examining it before he started to toy with it. He giggled a little at it. It was a simple toy, but it was fun...

Cross grinned, he was right. Well, that would make getting Nightmare more gifts a lot easier.
