Nightmare was surprised when he saw the children and Cross at his home. The little children were quick to pull at him, demanding his attention. The gooey monster laughed happily, guiding them all to the kitchen. Cross followed them in and called for a couple of the children to help him make breakfast.

"You didn't eat before coming here?" Night frowned deeply, twitching a little. He didn't like the idea of them not taking care of themselves. He could last without food; he has lasted without proper food... But they, they were mortal. They needed food.

The white clad blacksmith leaned over to the other, kissing his cheek. The kiss did calm the Nobleman, but not dispersing his concern. How could it take away that concern if they weren't taking proper care of themselves?

"It's alright, we road in a cart, so we didn't have to wait for too long." Cross grinned to the other.

Nightmare bit his lip before sighing and giving the group a sweet smile. As long as they weren't waiting too long for food. Besides, they were eating something anyway, so they were fine!

"Have you been eating well?" The monochrome skeleton asked over his shoulder, scrambling some eggs.

The tar covered monster had to pause to think about that. He knew he's been eating, but that was why the other added the well part. Was he eating well? He could only assume really...

"Yes?"

His uncertainty brought the children's attention to him, so he offered them a smile. None of them were buying it, narrowing their eyes some as they silently demanded an answer. The Nobleman sighed, looking away as he easily gave in. He knew there was no fighting them.

"I've skipped a meal or two for the last few days... I've been focused on repairing the castle." He hummed softly.

The youngest of the children, little Roise hopped up with a squeak. She held the most concern as she rushed to Nightmare, making little grabby hands to him. He smiled to her and easily picked her up. She clung to him, making quiet whining noises.

"Senpai, you know that you need to eat, especially if you're working on the castle." The white skeleton stepped forward, letting the children momentarily cook.

The older monster opened his mouth to say he was fine but stopped. The children and Cross were giving him such concerned and sweet looks that he didn't have the heart to lie. He was hungry now that his body had been given proper food. He was also weak, and he knew that the children would've wanted to play with him sometime after lessons and food.

"I'm sorry... I-I'll try to eat more..." He offered.

Sweetly, he was given a kiss, a hand wrapping around his waist to pull him closer. Then the man that had taken his kiss pulled away and went back to making the food. The children giggled at the blushing look of their Mama.

It wasn't long till breakfast was done and they all were out cleaning the castle. Because it was so big, they had to separate and take a room or a section. The youngest or those that couldn't walk around stayed in the library playing with some old toys and books. It was during this cleaning spree that he saw the room. The room his old Nanny used to live in.

His family, other than his brother, had decided to treat the young woman poorly. They had brought her in to care for Dream, not him, so when she did... They weren't happy about it, to say the least. However, Dream had already grown attached to the woman, so there wasn't much they could do other than give the woman the smallest room possible.

Nightmare felt guilt eat at his soul. She had sacrificed a life of luxury, an easy life, for him. He had repaid such kindness and love with hatred and death... What a monster he was...
