Windsor was working on his latest project, something he was going to call the Wheelchair! It was going to be for the baker's son, Jamie. Lately, Jamie's legs have been giving out at random, which was already bad considering Jamie had weak legs to start with. So, the carpenter son thought making the Wheelchair would help! Of course, Jamie would have to be pushed around and some stairs would need to replace for a ramp, but he was sure Jamie, and the others, would love it! He hoped Jamie and Nightmare love it the most, Nightmare's genuine praises always felt nice.
The young teen smiled to himself as he looked at the simple wooden frame and the simple wooden wheels. He would have to upgrade them as he goes, maybe even ask some of the others for help... But after he shows it off to everyone first!
Nodding at his thought, and happy with what he could manage, the boy turned to enter his home from the workshop. Yet, he stopped as he heard the whispers of many adults in his kitchen.
He frowned, leaning close to the door, but holding onto the frame so he wouldn't accidently fall through. He needed to listen in, he knew he did.
"-ster is ruining our village." A feminine voice hissed, sounding like the Madame Panes.
"No, it's corrupting our children! It's even corrupted Cr-" A voice sounding a lot like Mister Mites' voice grew loud, making the boy wince. Windsor was happy the man was cut off by his own father.
"Keep your voice down, you mutt. My boy isn't far."
The room grew quiet, as if waiting for the brunet to reveal himself at that moment. The young teen was tempted with scoffing at them but didn't. Even a quiet scoff could give him away. Soon, the room was back to its quiet whispers, words of hatred and anger floating to the tween's ears.
"It's a menace, have you seen it's eyes?"
"What eyes? It only has the one." A woman corrected, with the subtle sound of a hand connecting with skin.
"It'll make the children lash out."
"Wasn't it the monster we were warned about as young?"
"Yeah, the one to gleefully murder and eat it's kill!"
He narrowed his eyes, gritting his teeth as he soon listened to their plans on getting rid of the only good thing the Village had to offer.
"We should burn that castle to the ground."
"Yes, but what if that beast escapes?"
"We'll have to lure it into the dungeons then and set fire there first."
"Wouldn't that kill whoever lured it?"
"Even so, don't you think their sacrifice would do this village good?"
Windsor shook his head, quickly hurrying off to Cross. Cross would know what to do! Cross always protected the town, now he had to protect Nightmare!
The boy raced through the streets, zipping past Jamie without a wave or a shout to acknowledge the crippling boy. No, he was focused on getting to Cross's home at the edge of the town where Nightmare was for two days.
Soon, he saw the familiar white clad skeleton, his eyes widen as his body shook with the trouble of running for so long so quickly.
"Cross! Cross!" He shouted, shooting an arm up to grab the man's attention.
The pale skeleton frowned as he saw the boy dashing towards him, a frantic look in the boy's eyes. He waited for the boy as he gasped heavily when he reached the older man, bowing some to catch his breath. It took him some moments before he popped up, his cheeks flushed a deep red, but his eyes brimming with tears.
"Cross, the town... The adults, they're going to burn Momma."
