Nightmare felt guilty for the next several weeks. Cross had been spending more and more time with him. He had also been cleaning the manor manually despite that Nightmare told him he didn't need to. Of course, he said that Nightmare shouldn't waste his energy on such a minor thing as cleaning.
"Tell me what you need." He whispered softly, pulling at his fingertips.
The other raised a quiet eyebrow, confused on what was being asked of them. Nightmare sighed, closing his eye as he asked again.
"I-I need to repay you... Tell me what you need..."
The white clad monster gave a soft laugh, smiling to the other. He then noticed they were serious. This made him sigh and lightly frown.
"Nighty, you don't have to do that. You don't ever have to repay me..." He whispered, reaching up to cup the taller monster's face.
The one-eyed monster whimpered softly, tears glistening in his eye. He leaned into the warm and forgiving hand, needing its love. He knew Cross was going to say that, but... He needed to do something! Anything to make up for all the possible pain that was causing him!
"Please... Tell me what you want... I... I need to show you..." He squeezed his eye closed, trying to will the tears away.
The pale skeleton sighed before he gave the other a sweet smile. "Your heart."
Nightmare pulled away, confusion on his face. His heart? What did he mean by this? Did he want him dead or something like that?
"I want your love, your affection. I want you to be mine." Cross smiled more at the other, a gently cupping the other's face again. "That's all I want from you."
The tears in the monstrous eye finally fell down. Quickly, he hugged the smaller skeleton, crying into their shoulder. He never thought the other would've wanted him like that. He thought the other would've wanted jewels or something of that sort.
What did he do to deserve Cross's want? What did he say or prove to the world that fate gave him someone like Cross? He didn't deserve Cross, not with his sins. Not with the amount of blood that was on his hands.
"I-I don't... I don't deserve you..." He whimpered, his grip tightening some. As much as he knows he doesn't deserve someone as good as Cross, he didn't want to lose him. Not right now, not when he's finally able to see some form of good in his eternal life!
"You're far too innocent and naive, Senpai~" The shorter cooed out the nickname, pulling away some to look the other in the eyes. "Just say you're mine and that your heart belongs to me. That's all I want." He held a sweet smile, holding the other's face.
Nightmare gave a shy smile, a subtle blue blush on his face. He closed his eyes and pressed his head into the other's warm hands.
"I'm yours... My heart and soul belong to you..." He whispered. He meant every word of it too. He couldn't imagine a life without Cross, a life without hearing or seeing Cross's voice and face.
Cross's eyes widen some as he heard the added bit of owning Nightmare's soul. He wasn't really expecting to hear that, but he couldn't stop himself from grinning like a mad man. Gently, but quickly, he pulled the other down and began to kiss him deeply.
The gooey skeleton responded with a sharp gasp before practically melting into the kiss. The kiss was heated and passionate, expressing so many things that the large monster couldn't understand it all. All he could really tell from the kiss was that Cross wanted him. Wanted him with every bit of his own being.
The two soon separated from the kiss, Cross keeping a soft hold in Nightmare's face.
"I will do anything to keep you happy and safe~ You understand that?" Nightmare nodded, smiling some. "Good~" He brought the other down again for another kiss.
For them both, this was a good night.
