It had been a good while since Cross had been visiting Nightmare, said monster wasn't sure how long. Of course, time wasn't very relevant in his home. He was basically immortal, so time truly didn't matter... Though time with Cross was always so nice.

Over the course of the time, Nightmare had slowly begun to rebuild the manor. He had started in his room, then he moved to the kitchen before going to his study and the foyer. The only places that were done were the bedroom and kitchen, the rest were only livable. However, doing all that rebuilding was making him weak and it was taking longer to rebuild. So... Cross has been coming by and feeding him whenever he could. Though that wasn't often.

The gooey skeleton sighed some, very much bored. He wanted to do something, but he had finished mending the foyer. It still wasn't perfect, but it was in better shape than before. Thankfully, it was almost time for the pale skeleton to come by with food.

The large monster sighed a little, pouting. "When is he gonna show?" He murmured.

"Who's gonna show?" A voice said behind him.

The terrifying monster jolted to his feet, looking toward Cross. The pale skeleton was giving them a smirking-smile. It was a handsome look on him.

Recomposing himself, the cursed monster motioned toward the other. "Who else is dumb enough to face a monster." He murmured.

At the way he had described himself, the other frowned, his gaze becoming intense. It was an odd disapproving gaze with annoyance behind it.

"Why do you describe yourself like that?" He asked suddenly, stepping forward in a large stride.

The cyan eyed skeleton raised an eyebrow before looking away with a sigh. He didn't want to get into it.

"Nothing... It's..." Glancing back at the other, he became tense. The gaze had turned from intense to cruel. It was demanding him to change his answer before he even really spoke it. "It's a long story... I-I don't..." He looked away, clenching his fists. "I don't want t-to talk about it..."

The room was quiet for several minutes before Cross moved forward and hugged the taller being. They tensed more at the physical contact. The white clad monster was sure this was from the lack of good physical contact. He'll have to change that. Slowly, but surely.

Before the room's silence could get heavier, Nightmare's hungry stomach made itself known. This caused a rather beautiful cyan blue blush to appear on his face. The shorter monster laughed joyously, grinning once more.

"I made your favorite." He said, pulling away from the one-sided hug and moving back to where he had appeared. Waiting there was a carefully crafted bag that was carrying something odd shaping.

Nightmare tilted his head some at what his new companion said. His favorite? He knew the other meant food, but did he have a favorite food? He was unsure of that as he thought all of Cross's cooking was delicious!

"Eat." The word brought the gooey skeleton from his head and to what was being pushed into his own arms.

It was a thick, stew like meal with minced and chopped forms of herbs, spices, meat, and a few other things that Night couldn't see. Yet, it was something delicious! So, he sat on his throne and basically wolfed the whole bowl down. Cross just watched in amusement. Once it seemed the older being was done, the smaller one handed him some bread and a cookie. Those were gone in minutes, though Nightmare's eye had lit up at the taste of the cookie.

"Th-thank you..." The giant monster whispered, yawning softly. Now that he had warm food in his belly, he was tired.

The white clad monster laughed a little, cupping the bigger one's face. He happily watched as they let him hold up the weight of his skull, nuzzling into it at points. Sure, on the outside Nightmare was just that, but on the inside, he was more like a child in desperate need of love and affection. It was so cute to the mixed eyed monster.

"You're very much welcome~" Cross cooed in a soft, almost babyish voice. He learned to use it when Night was getting sleepy. "But I have more presents for you~ Something for you to wear~" He chuckled some as he had saw the way Night's eye lit up at the prospect of a present. It dulled some when it turned out not to be food, but it was adorable.

Pulling away from the sleepy other, he went to his other bag and grabbed them. To be honest, he had forgotten about them a little. He was glad he was able to finish them properly.

"Here you go." He murmured, showing the jewelry off to the giant octopus.

Nightmare's eye widen as he carefully picked up twin pairs of arm length bracelets. They weren't thick and were smooth under his gooey fingers There were dips and raised areas into the metal work to enhance the intricate designs that displayed something beautiful. At the front there were these soft gemstones, one being a bright and shiny topaz and the other being a beautiful dark purple amethyst. Those gemstones reminded him so much of what he had... Of what he lost.

"Thank you..." He gave a small smile, his cyan eye glistening some. It almost seemed like he was about to cry. "They're... Beautiful." He murmured.

Cross smiled softly, going up to the monstrous beauty and helping them with the bracelets. They were a stark contrast against the tar-black bones that made the taller one up. The bracelets were a bit tight, not that Nightmare actually minded.

"Thank you." He whispered again, running his fingers over the shiny objects almost happily. He really did enjoy them.
