I lift my chin as Jorogumo nears me, ignoring Viviendels screams completely. At least, I did until she jumped in front of Jorogumo's swinging sword.
"No!" Plants come up to protect Viviendel, and Jorogumo shakes as she lowers her sword away from my vines.
I lower my undergrowth, and touch Viviendel's arm. "Can I have another favor?" I ask her gently, she looks at me. Terror in her eyes. "Can you do it instead?"Her eyes widen and she starts to shake her head. "Please!" I beg, lowering my head and burrowing my forehead into her thigh. "Please do it instead, Viviendel. I would rather die from your hands than laugh with any of my friends," I start to plead.
Viviendel shakes and Azul yells to assure her that everything is fine. To just do it, as Delta screams.
She narrows her eyes at them before turning back to me, picking up her dagger, and touching my face.
"For you." She raises the dagger, and I brace myself before she brings it down. Her eyes open as if to torture herself with looking. It hits me on the side of my heart, narrowly missing. She screams when she realises that she must have caused me unnecessary pain, and starts stabbing all around my heart. Each hit sending me into peril. And I scream, and scream, and scream. She finally stops, and I fall backwards. Groaning.
I am on fire. I am on fire, and I can't stop burning. Burning. Burning. Burning.
I want to stop burning.
"I have achieved the Encantados dream," I sing-song through the pain, staring at her as she cradles my body.
"No!" She sobs, and each tear sizzles my skin with salt. Each tear makes me want to count every granule. But I relent. I am dying, after all.
"And that is all any Encantados has ever wanted," I continued. Bringing my hand up to her face. "A Bwardipuginin Girl," I start to slip, and the last thing I hear is the creak of the Earth as it swallows me.
"NO!"

I look at the person in front of me. Or more accurately, the skeleton in front of me. Its robe cascading around it.
I look at Death, at its massive wings, at its hollow face and cold eyes. And death looks at me.
"You're early," Is all he says.
