Chapter 3 - 5:38 pm. Troy had just gotten out of the shower in the locker room after their first game with Lyric as their coach, already dried off and dressed, he was squeezing the excess water out of his hair with a small hand towel. He finished up and tossed it aside into one of the laundry hampers once he was done with it, he sauntered towards the door and pulled it open, exiting the locker room. When he shut the door and turned he spotted Lyric who was just finishing up cleaning, she had already rounded the volleyballs up and took the net down, and was now sweeping up all the garbage off of the bleachers that all of the assholes had left behind instead of tossing it in the garbage can besides the door that they would walk out of on their way out like any human with common decency would. Troy stopped briefly when he saw her, and he frowned, scowling quietly. "I told you that i would help you clean up if you let me take a quick shower" Troy grumbled as he walked over towards her, Lyrics eyes shot over to meet his at the sudden break of silence, giving him a gentle innocent smile when she realized it was just him. "And i told you that you didn't need to. It's not your job" Lyric murmured back as she swept up the pile of things that she had rounded up into a large dustpan and poured it all into the trash can that she had pulled up to her side. "Well i wanted to help, those assholes left behind a lot of trash and taking down that net is a hassle." Troy replied gently and she chuckled, sending an adoring look his way as she reattached the dustpan to the broom. "Well, that's sweet, but i bet you're sore after the game, i didn't want you to have to do that when i was perfectly capable of doing it myself." Lyric said softly and propped the broom up against the bleachers, rolling up the long sleeves to her sweater that fell back down each time she pushed them up. Troy sighed out an exhale and couldn't help but smile at how caring she is "Okay, but i'm helping next time, alright?" Troy said as he sent a threatening glare at her, pointing his pointer finger at her while a playful grin still lingered. Which made her chuckle. "Okay." She agreed under her breath and watched him lower his finger, take a couple steps towards her and swipe up the broom and the trash can. "At least let me put these back for you" Troy offered and Lyric scoffed, taking another step closer to him and grabbing the broom with one hand and the trash can with the other. "Harvin i swear if you don't sit your ass down and let me do what i need to do.." She threatened under a grumble and he chuckled, raising a brow at her. "Or what, Coach?" Troy whispered without a second thought, Lyrics movements paused and a grin battled to reveal itself, but she fought it back, shaking her head in disbelief at him. She ran her tongue slowly along the inside of her bottom lip her bottom lip, fighting the urge to put him in his place. Troy laughed at her struggle at his sarcasm and attempted to tug them back from her, but she repeated his movements, tugging them back towards her. His smile widened as he continued to hold the eye contact between the two, that battled for dominance. They just stood there for what felt like minutes but in reality was only about 10 seconds. "Sit your ass down Harvin before i kick the back of your knees in and make you." Lyric uttered and he gnawed at the inside of his cheek anxiously and smiled bigger, his gaze beginning to soften. Lyrics eyebrows threaded together curiously and she smiled wider. "Why are you looking at me like that?" Lyric inquired under a whisper and he narrowed his eyes a little at her, the corner of his mouth twitching up a little "Because you look even more beautiful when you're being threatening over something, even something as odd as a broom and a trash can" He admitted and pressed his lips together afterwards when he realized how absolutely ridiculous that sounded, making Lyric laugh. "Here i thought that you were different from everybody else on this team" She joked and watched him laugh at the sarcastic comment, quickly responding to correct her assumption "Oh I am, I'm not trying to get in your pants, I just want to fawn over you a little, and soak in every mesmerizing detail of you in the process." Troy confessed and Lyric pressed her lips into a hard line, trying to suppress a smile that broke free once again. The..hell? Did a man I hardly know just make me feel things in a minute than my boyfriend has within the entire year we've been together? Lyric questioned herself.
