Chapter 17. (11:49 am) Troy drove up the gravel path leading up to the campsite and carefully parked his car besides Ryan's RV, reaching into the backseat to grab their bags. Lyric looked up from her book and her eyes landed on Ryan who was adding wood onto the campfire he had yet to light, she smiled, shutting her book and removing her feet from the dash. Troy barely caught her smile when he looked over at her, groaning and pushing open his door. "Lyric.." He stated with a warning tone and slid their bags straps over each shoulder. She smiled. "Troy.." Lyric replied playfully before turning and walking towards Ryan. Troy scowled quietly and walked around the back of his car to the trunk.
Ryan looked up from the fire pit briefly to look at who was approaching, assuming that it was Troy, but quickly looked again, staring this time as Lyric walked up to him. "Hi." Lyric began sweetly with a dimpled smile, "Lyric" She introduced herself and extended her hand out to him. Ryan immediately rose up and scanned her appearance, dusting the tree bark dust off of his hands and onto his jeans. "Hi, I'm Ryan. I've heard lots about you, Lyric." Ryan said softly, taking her hand and shaking it. Lyric chuckled, tilting her head to the side a little. "Really? Because I have heard nothing about you, or maybe I just didn't care enough to listen." Lyric said and whispered jokingly with her eyes on his, still shaking his hand. "Shit." Ryan laughed out, "Okay, you're mean as hell..but I like it." Ryan flirted huskily and Lyric smiled gently, finally letting go of his hand. "Hm..I am a little mean huh?" She replied gently, a trace of a playful smile still on her face when she turned to walk away. Ryan cleared his throat, interrupting her leave, "Uhm, hey." He began nervously and she stopped in her tracks, turning to look at him. "You're 18, right?" He asked curiously and she nodded for confirmation, her eyebrows knitting together curiously. "Well, I'm 20, so if you'd maybe want to hang out some time.." Ryan let his words trail off, letting Lyric assume the rest. She got exactly what he meant and gave him a perfect, friendly smile, nodding, and he was hardly able to return the smile before she left to walk to Troy. Ryans eyes pervertedly dropped for a brief moment, watching her walk away from him. "Whew.." He breathed out heavily and held back a grin.
Troy watched her walk back over to him and her hips swayed a little with every confident step she took, he hadn't even picked up a bag yet, he stared at the interaction. Was he jealous? Yes, completely, so much so that he even let him admit it to himself. Troy cleared his throat and grabbed a couple of bags when he realized she was looking at him, they had bought a few drinks and snacks on the way here for their camper. She walked around the side of his car and to the back end, coming up beside him. "He seems interested in me." Lyric whispered as she grabbed the other bags that he couldn't carry, Troy groaning in frustration. "Lyric, please." He pleaded desperately under his breath and she chuckled, giving him a sweet look. "Babe, don't worry, I don't want your friend, okay? I would not do that to you, I was just making a statement." She explained reassuringly and he exhaled a deep breath, a smile tugging up at the corner of his mouth. "Babe, I like that." Troy murmured and shut the trunk, Lyric giggling as she began to lead the way to their RV. Troy quickly walked ahead of her to open the door for her and she smiled. "Thank you, sir" Lyric said and curtsied briefly, stepping up into the RV. "Of course, my lady" Troy replied in a horrible foreign accent and followed her inside, his awful accent made her cringe and giggle. Lyric looked over her shoulder at him, a judgemental but entertained look on her face when he came up the steps. "Please don't do that again." Lyric pleaded through a laugh and opened the fridge, setting the bags down on the counter beside of it. "Yes ma'am" Troy obliged and set their bags down on the table, and the snack bag beside of them, opening a cabinet to store them while Lyric stocked the mini fridge with the drinks. His eyes wandered around a little and they landed on the bed, making him swallow nervously. "There's only one bed, and its small." Troy divulged as he shut the cupboard, tossing the plastic bag away in the trash. "So?" Lyric questioned, shutting the fridge and tossing her bag away as well. "This is how enemies to lovers happen." Troy announced which made her chuckle, raising an eyebrow as she leaned back against the counter. "We aren't enemy's" Lyric said simply, Troy grinning a little. "If I pretend that I hate you, will you kiss me again?" Troy asked ever so simply and she laughed, way harder than she should've. "No" "Fuck"
