Chapter 2 (6:07 pm) Lyric fumbled around with the ring full of unorganized keys that Coach Michelson had left in his- her, desk, attempting to lock up the gym as that was now one of her responsibilities. She slowly and calmly exhaled, trying to be patient with them, she flipped over the key she had already tried to the next key in line. Lyric attempted to push it into the key slot and huffed harshly when it refused to go in. "Oh my god how many fucking keys does this stupid gym need." Lyric grumbled under her breath and flipped the key over the ring, trying a silver key that, once again failed to slide into place which just tested her patience a bit more. "Oh for fucks sake!" She exclaimed in disbelief, running her hand through her curls. "It's the green one." A gentle voice come from behind her. Her body jolted a little at the sudden voice and she quickly spun around to face him, he was standing 2 feet away from her, his figure outlined by the glare of the sunset. She squinted her eyes trying to focus on the man who stood infront of her, and when her eyes met Troys she eased up at the sight of him, sighing in relief as she smiled. "Hi, I'm sorry, I didn't hear you come up." Lyric said gently, "I already tried the green one." She murmured and flashed him an apologetic look for her previous behavior, which he only replied with a reassuring smile. "Hi..I saw you struggling, let me see it?" Troy asked softly and took a step closer to her, gently taking the ring of keys from her hand. Lyric took a step back and their shoulders brushed against one another when he swiftly moved past her, she tried to ignore the stinging sensation that his shoulder against hers had caused, and more on the fact that he stood so close to her. So close that she could smell a hint of sweat from practice and a faint lingering smell of divine cologne from before, but she shook her head a little, making herself focus on the task at hand while he fiddled with the keys. Troy found the correct one and set his hand over the top of the deadbolt, pushing down on it as he tried to push the green key in. "It's just a bit tricky.." He muttered huskily under his breath. It soon after slid perfectly into place which made him breathe in relief, turning it to the left which earned a large click from it, and then to the left again to remove it.
Lyric scoffed in disbelief as a smile spread across her face. "I swear to god I tried pushing on it and everything." She murmured and ran her hand over the back of her neck, gripping her skin, she was visibly embarrassed. He chuckled softly and turned to the side to face her. "It's okay, we've needed a new key and deadbolt for a long time, the school just refuses to replace it." Troy reassured her and placed the set of keys back in her hand when she extended it, Lyric just nodding in response and grasping the keys that lie in her hand.
Neither of them spoke up, so they just stayed in pure silence for a few seconds while their eyes lingered on one another's, but still nothing left their slightly parted lips. Lyrics eyes searched over his a couple of times, for any sign of how he was feeling, but she couldn't trace anything so she swallowed through the nervous lump forming in her throat, which hardly worked. "Uhm... I'm sorry for the language. I've been a little stressed out and this was just adding right on." Lyric admitted and slid the ring of keys to fit into her back pocket, Troy laughed briefly, inserting his hands into his side pockets as he rested his shoulder up against the brick wall. "I don't give a shit about the kind of language you use around me, Coach." Troy divulged, crossing his foot over the other at the ankle to relieve the pressure on his feet. His sentence made Lyric smile. It went silent again for a few seconds as they watched each other, unsure of what to say. Oh my god, why is this man so deeply attractive? I can't stop staring, I need to stop. "Uhm.." Troy began quietly, pulling Lyrics attention away from his features and up to his eyes which were already on hers. "About my friend..I'm sorry that he was so.." Troy took a brief pause to think of the right word but she beat him to it, "Horny, irritating, pretty much just a regular teenage boy?" Lyric inquired which made him laugh, scratching the back of his neck as he drew in a deep breath. "Yep, pretty much." Troy breathed out his sentence. "There's no reason to apologize for his behavior again, he didn't even exactly give off the sexual harassment vibes that I thought he was going to. Although I know the only question he decided to ask was just plain desperate, I could tell by his eyes glued to my body that he had much worse thoughts." Lyric observed. Troy sighed out an exhale, nodding to confirm what she presumed. "Yes, he did. I just feel badly because i am his best friend and it's my duty to keep him on his best behavior." Troy expressed. Lyric hummed gently and let it go quiet for a couple of seconds while she built up the courage to even question something like this. "Correct me if I'm wrong but..I'm pretty sure you had the same sexualizing thoughts that he did, based on the way you looked at me. You just had the decency to keep it to yourself." Lyric presumed and shifted her weight onto her other foot to relieve pressure from her other, crossing her arms over her chest to keep herself warm from the gentle breeze that blew in. The sway of her hips caught his attention for a split second and he was stifling a smile but it eventually broke loose when he looked back up to look her in the eyes, sucking his tongue up against his teeth for a moment before murmuring a quiet "Guilty" Lyric couldn't help but smile, attempting to hide it. "Who wouldn't though?" He flirted desperately under a breath, his eyes briefly dropping down again, they were low and hungry, scanning her appearance as his body shifted closer to her. Her eyes stayed stuck on his eyes traveling her body and then her face, even when they met hers again, her stomach was in knots.
