Chapter 11 (Later that night, 10:18 pm) Troys eyes shot open when a loud knock erupted from the front door, he hadn't even realized he fell asleep but apparently he had because he was covered up with a throw blanket and the TV was off. Troy looked around and wiped the drool away from his mouth, groaning softly..Jill emerged from her room a moment later and she looked at the door curiously and then Troy, smiling "Hey sleepy head, who's at the door?" She questioned and Troy shrugged his shoulders as he ran a hand over his face "I don't know but they better have a damn good reason for knocking on our door this late" He uttered under his breath as his eyes shut again, Jill chuckling as she made her way to the door and opened it. She froze up at the sight of two police officers standing on their front porch, staring back at her, one of them had their hands tucked in their pockets and the other one's hand sat over his holster. "Hi officers, what can I help you with?" Jill asked softly as she put a smile on her face, resting her hand on the doorframe, Troys eyes popping open and shooting in their direction at the word "officers". "Jill Harvin?" The male cop asked, and she swallowed through a nervous lump in her throat choking up her breathing "Yes?" She answered unsurely. He looked at his partner and gave her some sort of signal with his eyes and then they stepped into the house. "Put your hands behind your back" The female cop ordered and when Jill just froze up they grabbed her by her shoulder and turned her around, gathering her arms together to cuff them. "You are under arrest for the possession of methamphetamine with the intent to sell" The male cop began and Troy's heart absolutely sank, springing up into a sitting position. "Mom?" Troy hardly said with heavy emotion in his voice, quickly standing up. "Shit" Jill muttered under her breath as her eyes briefly fell closed. "You have the right to remain silent, anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law." The male read Jill her rights and turned her back around, preparing to walk her out, "Mom?!" Troy exclaimed through tears, he needed her to turn around and tell him that it was a joke, just a stupid prank, and everything was okay. But she didn't, instead when she looked at him she gave him a reassuring smile, tears falling down her face just as his did. "Don't worry baby, everything will be okay. Your brother still has guardianship of you both, just try to get ahold of him, okay?" Jill said softly, her voice sounded heartbroken, "You have the right to a lawyer and to have them present while you are being questioned, if you can't afford one, one will be appointed to you." The cop continued as he walked her out the door by a grip on her forearm, Troy quickly followed after them, stopping on the front porch as they walked her down the front steps "Meth, mom?" Troy hardly said through a cry, Jill looking over her shoulder at him "I couldn't watch you guys suffer any longer, and it made us a lot of money." Jill admitted as they walked her to his cruiser, the cop placed a hand on her head and carefully lowered her into the backseat. Troy just stared as they shut her in the car, he couldn't move, there was nothing else that he could do. Tears continuously fell from his eyes and he sobbed quietly, watching as they turned on their lights and reversed out of the driveway..she looked at him through the backseat window, mouthing an "I love you" before they drove her off. Gabriel came up beside him, taking a glimpse up at him "Troy?" Gabriel murmured, "Where is mom? What's so bright?" He asked in a mutter, tiredly rubbing his fists over his eyes..Troy opened his mouth to reply but nothing could come out, blinking away his tears. Gabriel saw just a flash of Jills face in the back of the cop car that drove away, and he began to shake his head, his lips parting to speak which he could hardly do for a moment "No." He hardly whispered in disbelief, Troy tried his hardest to stay strong but quickly failed, stifling a sob into his hand. "No, they can't take mom!" Gabriel cried as he looked at Troy, his eyes quickly returning to the end of the police car, "Mom!" He exclaimed through his sobs and tried to run after the car, Troy quickly grabbed him and pulled him back into him, Gabriel fighting to escape his grip "Let me go!" Gabriel yelled, Troy trying his best to stop crying "Gabriel.." Troy attempted to calm him, "Let me go!!" He sobbed out, kicking at him. "Gabriel, please, listen to me" Troy barely got out his beg through a soft cry which made Gabriel calm down a little, Troy making him turn to face him as he lowered down onto his knees. "It's okay, okay?" Troy whispered, Gabriel sniffling as he attempted to hold back his tears "Mom has to go away for a while, and she won't be coming back any time soon. But I'll take care of you, okay? Just like I always have, and-and we'll go visit her when we can." Troy whispered as calmly as he possibly could, wiping away a falling tear off of Gabriel's cheek with his thumb. Gabriel shook his head, in disbelief still as he failed to hold them back, breaking down crying again. "It'll be okay" Troy whispered as his hand slid around to the back of Gabriel's neck, pulling him in and hugging him. Gabriel hugged him tightly, sobbing into his shoulder "I've got you buddy"
