Chapter 5. (1 week later, Friday November 2nd, 1:51 am) Troy was laying in his bed with his eyes glued to the ceiling, lost in his thoughts. He hadn't been able to get Lyric off of his mind all night, he had only known her for 3 weeks yet here he was, unable to sleep because she had taken over his mind, her eyes, her laugh, her smile, her voice, her body. He was stretched out on his back with his legs spread apart a little and his hands underneath his head, he had on a pair of baggy grey sweatpants and a thin, tight red T-shirt on and his hair was tied back into the smallest ponytail it could fit into. He couldn't stop thinking of this moment that they had yesterday, when Lyric was taking down the volleyball net in the gym after practice. Everybody wanted to hurry up and get out of there after a long and excercise filled 3 hour long practice, leaving and deciding to ignore her struggling with pulling it down, so when i noticed i set my things back down on the bleachers immediately and sprinted over to help. I came up behind her and took ahold of the pole that she struggled to pull up out of the holster and down to the ground, she took a glimpse over at me and gave me the most beautiful, relieved dimpled smile i had ever seen. I smiled back, smittenly, and helped her pull it out of its holster and gently drag it down to the ground, Lyric exhaling a huge sigh of relief. "Oh thank you, Harvin, this one i have noticed is even more of a pain in the ass to get down than the other side" Lyric thanked me under the panting of her breathing, setting her hand on the back of my bicep as she looked me in the eyes, smiling wider as she did to show her appreciation. As soon as her blue eyes hit mine and i felt the warmth of her hand on my arm i froze up and just stared into her eyes, my mouth agape but no words leaving it. When her eyebrows furrowed in the slightest and her head tilted a little to the side in confusion i forced myself to say something, anything. "I..." The pathetic attempt hardly left my mouth in a whisper and my eyes widened a little when i realize she had more of an effect on me than i already knew. I cleared my throat to play it off and continued, "You're..welcome, Let me help you take down the other side?" I acted as if nothing happened and she smiled once again, her hand falling from my arm "Yes, please?" Lyric asked and headed over to the other side, and I followed. We stopped at the other pole and her hands grasped it, waiting for me to join her, which I quickly after did. Except this time when we pulled it up out of its holster and began to pull it down it was unleveled from the other side already being down, so when it came down the pole hardly missed my head and the net went directly over me, trapping me and making me lose my grip on it. Lyric let out a shriek of fright and shock and tried to push it back up in response, but just began to laugh when she realized I was okay, i just looked so funny hunched over with my hair tangled up in the loops of the net and trapped like a fish in one of those catch nets fisherman use. "Pull it off!" I exclaimed through a laugh which made her laugh even harder, practically wheezing when she attempted pull it off top of me and failed. On the second try she successfully lifted it up the best she could and I was able to squeeze out. I helped her pull it down to the ground safely before she began to laugh her absolute ass off again, bending over and resting her hands on her knees for support as she cackled. I frowned and scowled, but then quickly after caved in on her contagious laughter and laughed as well, "You're such a dick" I joked which made her laugh even harder, leaning up and shoving my shoulder playfully before something caught her eye and they moved up to my hair, "Wait, hold on.." Lyric said through a gentle laugh and took a step towards me, "You have a little.." She took another half step closer to me and reached up to my hair, and i reluctantly lowered my head a little so she could reach, keeping my eyes on her though. She pulled a piece of cobweb from my hair and shook it off of her fingers, then she ran her fingers through my hair after she got it off to remove the particles and to also fix it. I tried my best to ignore the way her fingers threading through my hair felt and how my stomach tied up into a knot when her eyes met mine again, "I got it" Lyric whispered and I attempted to smile but all my lips did was twitch "Thanks" I whispered back as i fixed my posture and her arms returned to her sides, our eyes staying locked. "Of course" Lyric said gently. She still stood so close to me though, so close that i swear to god i could spell her honey shampoo perfuming off of that perfect curly hair of hers, that absolutley captivated me. She was looking up at me through her eyelashes while her lips parted in the slightest, which then made my eyes fall down to them. They looked absolutely ravishing. "Can..Can I text you sometime, would you mind? Or is that weird?" She hardly whispered which made my eyes return to hers, fighting back a smile that crept out anyways. "Of course, no its not weird, at all, here.." Troy reassured her and removed his phone from his pocket, offering it out to her "Put your number in?" He asked and she smiled, nodding while she took his phone from him "Yes" Lyric agreed and swiped opened his phone, smiling wide when she saw his background, a picture of him in a public pool holding Gabriel in his arms. She went to his contacts and created a new contact, typing in her number and then her name, and when she was done she added in her own contact picture by selecting to take a new one. She held the phone back just a little away from her and turned her head slightly to the right, smiling her white teethed dimple smile for the photo and then saving it to the contact. "There you go" She said while handing him his phone back, Troys smile widening "Text me sometime then?" Troy said gently, his hopes completely up as she nodded in response, fighting back the urge to smile once again even though its all she had been doing "Yes." She replied way too quickly.
