Aiden and I went inside and was stopped by a horrific sight.

"Oh no", I said.

Aiden's mom was laying flat on the floor passed out.

We rushed to her side and I quickly called 911.

I checked her pulse and her heart was beating but really slow.

"No no no, do we give her CPR or something?", Aiden asked.

"I'm not sure, but if there's something else going on CPR might worsen it"

I checked her breathing and I could hardly hear it.

"We have to go. Now"

^^^^^^^
We rushed to the hospitals taking all the freeways.

"We need help!", Aiden yelled holding his mom in his arms.

"What's the problem?", A doctor rushed over to us.

"Slow breathing and heart rate", I replied.

She called over some other workers and took they her to a room.

"Any other symptoms?", the doctor asked.

"I'm not sure, we found her passed out on the floor".

"When can I see her?", Aiden asked.

"Maybe as soon as we find out what's wrong", with that the doctor left.

Aiden turned to me and started tearing up, "what if she doesn't make it?", he said merely a whisper.

"Don't say that, have hope"

"Hope's not really on my side, I just lost my dad. I can't do this Madi"

"Yes you can, your strong, she's gonna be okay"

"You don't know that"

"I'm hoping"

He sighed a trembling sigh. Then sat in a chair.

I sat next to him and tried my best to comfort him.

^^^^^^^
About an hour later the doctor came back.

Aiden quickly stood up and I followed after him.

"What wrong doc?", he asked nervously.

"She's been diagnosed with lung cancer, it says here that she's had for awhile now"

"How long?"

"Probably couple years"

"Can I see her, please?"

"She's a bit weak now but yeah she's in room 108"

Without spearing the doctor another glance, Aiden rushed off.

"Thank you, he's just really worried right now"

"I get it", she smiled.

I smiled back and followed after Aiden.

I went into room 108 to see Aiden already there, at his mom's bedside holding her hand.

"Hey mommy, you okay?", he asked moving her hair out of her face.

"Hey baby", she answered breathlessly.

"Mom did you know? Did you know you had cancer?", his eyes pooled with water.

She didn't respond but slowly nod.

"Why didn't- why didn't you tell me?"

"I didn't want to worry you"
