"Never again."
That was the first thought on Lexa's mind as she struggled to open her eyes against the light that she could swear was trying to burn holes through her eyelids. The intense pressure in her head quickly reminded her of the amount of alcohol she had consumed the night before, feeling extremely grateful for the Aspirin that she found on the nightstand, next to a glass of water.
She smiled at Clarke's thoughtfulness, a warm feeling settling in her chest as she glanced at the t-shirt she was wearing, recognizing it immediately as one of the blonde's oversized t-shirts that she used for sleeping.
It was the first time in a week that she hadn't woken up thinking about Costia and their failed relationship, even if it was because she was too busy dealing with the hangover kicking her butt.
Lexa managed to sit up on the edge of the bed, and before she even had time to dwell on the events from the previous night, the bathroom door started to open in front of her. She was inevitably drawn to the figure coming out of the bathroom; it was Clarke, wearing nothing but a big, blue towel covering her torso and the upper half of her thighs. Lexa's eyes roamed involuntarily over her friend's almost naked body, following the drops of water as they rolled down her neck and disappeared in her cleavage, only to reappear on her thighs, sliding down her long legs and dying at her bare feet.
"Hey, you're awake..." the blonde spoke, offering her a smile.
Lexa nearly jumped as she looked up, noticing Clarke's flushed cheeks.
"Great job drooling at your straight friend, Lexa..." the brunette thought, taking Clarke's blushing as a sign of discomfort.
"Yeah, uh... sorry, I spaced out a little bit..." she let out a nervous chuckle.
"I hope I didn't wake you," the blonde added as she walked past her in the direction of the closet.
"Oh, no no.... I've been awake for a while."
Clarke's eyes widened and she bit her lip nervously, wondering if Lexa might have heard her, even though she was careful not make a lot of noise as she reached her climax under the shower. She knew she shouldn't have done it with Lexa sleeping on the other side of the door, but she desperately needed a relief after the intense dream she had woken up to that morning.
"Did you sleep well? How's your stomach?" she asked, trying to keep those images out of her mind.
"Not bad at all... Actually, it was the best sleep I've had in a long time," Lexa replied. "Maybe I should drink more often," she chuckled.
Clarke turned around instantly, holding a fresh pair of underwear, jeans and a sweater in her hands.
"That's a joke, I hope..." She said, raising an eyebrow as she locked eyes with Lexa.
"Of course," the brunette smiled. "Thanks for the Aspirin, by the way."
"Sure! I just returned the favor," Clarke winked at her and started walking in the direction of the bathroom. "I'll be right out," she said before she disappeared behind the bathroom door.
Lexa looked around the room and quickly located her phone on the nightstand, noticing the notification light as she grabbed it.
She felt calm as she unlocked the screen, knowing that it could not be Costia, since she had blocked her immediately after the breakup; it was something she had done in anger, but as the days went by, she was able to recognize the emotion being replaced by pain, and she knew there was no way she could read Costia's messages without completely falling apart.
