Author Note!

Hi guys! Thank you so much for giving my story a chance.

This is the second story I've written but this is my first time writing paranormal. This is also my first time writing in the first person, so I hope it's okay.

Please leave a comment. I would appreciate any input that you all might have.

I hope you enjoy reading.

Let's jump straight into the story, shall we?

༻༺

I'm just your average 24-year-old witch living in Euphoria Falls. All my life growing up I was told so many stories about witches and vampires.

I never believed any of those stories as a kid that they were real, that was until I did magic when I was 15.

From that day on I knew deep down the stories are all true. Vampires and witches are real. It makes me wonder if werewolves are real as well.

When I found out I was a witch, I never told anyone except my best friend Claire. We always told each other everything. Except I've been keeping a huge secret from her. I want to tell her but it's hard to talk about it.

I always thought that I was different to everyone but didn't know why. I wondered if my parents were like me.

I don't know why but deep down I had a feeling I was different to my parents. Strangely, we don't look like each other. I never put it all together.

Flashback

I never knew the truth about myself until I confronted my parents at 4 p.m. on a Friday when I was 16. We all sat down in the living room to have a cup of tea.

I took a sip of my tea then I took a deep breath and spoke.

"Mum, Dad, why am I different?"

I looked back and forth at my mum and dad.

"What do you mean you're different?" My mum asked.

"All my life I've felt that I'm different to both of you. We don't have the same facial features or same hair colour. And something always felt like it was missing."

At that moment they looked at each other and my mum's lower lip quivered. I knew I was right. We are different but I didn't want it to be true.

My mother's eyes landed on me then she spoke in a low shaky voice.

She lowered her head, avoiding my gaze, "You're ad- dopted"

I thought to myself, 'did I hear that right? No, I must have heard that wrong.'

"I'm what?" I asked, frightened.

My father placed his hand on my mothers then spoke. "The moment we saw you laying in the crib. We knew that you were our child"

My eyes started to water and my breathing became heavy.

"You lied to me! Why - WHY didn't you tell me?"
