Chapter 21

Elijah’s Pov

It’s been two days since I gave Mia my blood and she still hasn’t woken up. We placed her in the bedroom she stayed in before just so no one would be asking questions on why she isn’t awake. I haven’t left her bedside since.

“Mia please wake up..” I paused.. “I need you” I rested my head on the bed beside her hand when I heard a knock at the door. “Elijah we have a guest”

“Who is it?” I asked.

“It’s her biological mother”

“Why is she here?”

“I’m not sure”

I sighed, “fine I will be right down”

I heard fraya walk away but then I heard more footsteps coming closer to me. A firm hand on my shoulder. “I’m sure she will wake up soon” 

"Thanks jace. I sure hope so"

Katherine’s Pov

“Where is she?” I asked pacing back and forth.

“Please calm down”

“How can I calm down when I can sense my daughter is in trouble?”

I shook my head as I turned away from fraya. Deep inside my heart I know something is wrong. I pace back and forth as I try to calm my nerves but it isn’t working.

Why does this have to happen now? I’ve only just got her back. I was pulled from my thoughts by a deep sad voice, “may I ask why we have company?”

I spun around to see Elijah who didn’t look like himself. His hair was a mess and by the dark bags under his eyes it seemed that he hadn’t got any sleep. Right then and there I knew something was up.

“I’m here to see Mia”

“Why would she be here?” Elijah asked.

“Well I know Fraya is Mia’s friend and so are you”

“Yes we are friends of hers but why are you here? In my house” Elijah asked.

I could take much more of this as I feel my blood start to boil. The sound in both their voice tells me they know where she is. And I’m not leaving until I know. I walk over to the couch taking a seat and crossed my arms waiting for answers.

“Fraya I’m sorry I can’t deal with this right now,” Elijah replied.

“Elijah please”

“No fraya I have to get some fresh air”

Elijah rubbed the back of his head then stormed out of the house. Something has him raddled up. I wonder if it has anything to do with Mia.

I can sense Elijah and Mia have something special going on. The look in his eyes say it all. I sigh as I watch Elijah storm out of the house. Fraya took a deep breath as she sat down beside me. 

"I’m sorry about Elijah"

"It’s okay. But why is he acting like that?"

She couldn’t look me in the eye as she started fidgeting while looking at the ground. She spoke in a low shaky voice, “It’s Mia”

The way she said Mia’s name I could tell it was bad. My heart starts beating rapidly once again, as I suck in a breath. I open my mouth to speak then I close it. I slowly lifted my head to speak, “What happened?”

Fraya lowered her head into her hands not wanting to look at me. She didn’t speak just shook her head. “Fraya please I need to know”

“S..she was shot”
