Off Limits - Paranormal Romance

Chapter 2

I've spent years trying to find out who my biological mother is but every time I've asked, all the leads are dead ends. 

While searching for her, I found out she was 15 when she had me and her name is Katherine but I couldn't find out her last name. All I have left of her is a small picture of her with me when I was born. It seems she doesn't want to be found. 

Every night I lay in bed looking at the picture inside my locket of me and my biological mum. Everyday I wonder to myself if we will ever meet. I badly want to find out who and what she is like. After searching for many years I've given up hope that it won't happen.

Monday morning went by rapidly and soon enough it was 3 p.m. I took a quick shower and then strolled back into my room with a towel wrapped around me. I walked over to my wardrobe, opened it up, and pulled out my ripped black denim jeans and a red off-shoulder shirt. I didn't want to wear anything too tight or revealing. 

I strolled into the bathroom, over to the sink picking up my brush and brushed my long brown hair, pulling it up into a high ponytail. Lately, I haven't been wearing much makeup on. So I didn't put much on. 

Looking into the mirror I smiled. Tonight is the night I tell my friends the secret I've been keeping from everyone. I've wanted to tell Claire for a while, but every time I'm about to, she needs to do stuff. 

I can't keep this secret any longer, I have to tell Claire. It must be done. Tonight is the night.

I couldn't wait for the sleepover at fraya's tonight. It is going to be so much fun. Hopefully, I'll be able to see Elijah. Maybe just maybe we will play truth or dare. I've wanted to kiss Elijah for so long. But I know we could never be because of the girl code my friends made. Secretly all I wanted was to date Elijah but can't.

Walking back into my room over to my wardrobe, I grabbed my big black bag and went back over to place it on my bed. I unzipped it, placing my silk PJs in and a couple of spare clothes and my toiletry bag. I couldn't forget my diary or my spellbook. I never go anywhere without them. 

While I packed my bag full of my stuff for tonight, I heard my phone ding. I pulled it out of my back pocket to see it was a notification reminding me of the sleepover. I couldn't help but smile. Looking at the time it was 3:40 pm. Excitement kicked in. 

I walked into the dining room placing my bag on the ground near the couch. Then I walked into the kitchen grabbing a cold bottle of water from the fridge and took a sip. I grabbed my big black bag full of my stuff, picked up my keys from the counter near the door, and walked out to my red BMW car. 

As I started the car the radio played one of my favourite songs called,' Confident' by Demi Lovato. Something about this song always makes me feel happier and stronger. 

It's a 20-minute drive from my house to Fraya's. After getting more than three red lights in a row I finally pulled up at Frayas house at 4 pm I parked out front. 

Every time I come to their house, I'm amazed at how much it looks like a castle. It's an old and historic building. It's nothing like what people would expect a vampire's house to look like. 

Usually, people think vampire houses are meant to be dark and spooky but that's not the first thing that comes to mind. It doesn’t feel creepy at all.

Though it looks like a castle it still fits in with the style of the buildings around it. It doesn’t look out of place. 

Soon after everyone arrived, parking their cars down the road. I started walking up the driveway and noticed Sarah was there. I don't understand why she's here, we aren't friends. We all walked up the driveway to the front door, stopping as I reached out to ring the doorbell.
