Part 16

A few hours later Kacchan is fast asleep again, as far as I know school had ended already so if I were to leave now all I had to do was explain myself to Shiggy again.
Kacchan had eventually told me I could leave if I wanted, still I decided to leave a note before going.

'Hey Kacchan, I had to go for work so I had to leave, call if you need anything.'

I left after telling Masaru the same thing, I had to got to work.
At the bar it was chaos as always, the attack was coming up and we still didn't have enough men to be certain we'll win, and the Doctor's Nomu thing wasn't ready yet either.
"Finally! Where the fuck have you been?" Shiggy calls out the moment I enter the bar. "I already told you that." I just groan, already putting on my mask and going to stand behind the bar, I didn't even bother to change into my uniform today.
"The Doctor asked for you." Kurogiri states. I nod and see he already opened a gate to what I suspect is the lab.
"We'll see when you get back. But you will come back, Giran will officially kill you if you miss another training." Shiggy calls out right before I enter the warp gate. I don't get the time to respond as the gate closes.

The Doctor had been patiently waiting for me next to the Nomu thing, apparently he deeded help with testing it's strength, and because I had offered to fight it before he figured I would be the person to help him. Great. I shift my mask slightly, making sure my whole face was covered.
When I look around I notice another man in the room, immediately I feel Shadow tense up behind me.
"Calm yourself Shadow, Sir, you asked for me?" The Doctor looks up, pushing his glasses up slightly.
"Ah there you are." The man in the corner also looks up, his hair covers the majority of his face, everything but his mouth, he's smoking something, creating a pretty thick smoke.
I think he noticed me looking at him as he got up and put out the cigarette.
"Ace, this is Midoriya." The man nods slightly.
"Whatever, what did you call me here for? If it's another test I'm gonna kill you, I was in the middle of class." All he gets is a short apology.
"Either way, Midoriya this is Ace, one of the Leagues informants and my personal test subject-"
"Call me that again and I'm cutting off your tongue and shove it down your throat." Excuse me? Violent much. The Doctor stays silent for a while, until there's a soft glitching sound coming from the TV in the corner. Ace takes a small step back, scared?
"Good evening Sensei." I mutter, loud enough for him to hear.
"Good evening my boy, I see you've met young Torin already." I nod slightly, looking back at the dark blue haired male.
"Yeah. I thought I was here for a Nomu experiment though." Ace scoffs, taking a step towards the Nomu in the tank.
"You are. You see, young Torin was the first Nomu experiment, when none of the mutation experiments worked on him he became a test subject to try out new quirks. I called him up to keep an eye on you." Ace looks up.
"Wait what?! You think I have time to take care of a child? I have other things to do old man!" He yells, immediately flinching at a noise coming from the TV.
"You don't have a choice." Is all Sensei said. Ace didn't say much more the rest of the time I was there.
Sensei also left again. I think Ace is afraid of Sensei, don't know why.

I was there to test out the Nomu's strength, so was Ace apperently.
"I'm going to release him now, let's see how long you can keep it off." was all the Doctor said before opening the monster's tank and going to stand on the sidelines.
The monster was quite hard to fight, even Shadow had trouble keeping him away from me.
"Hey child, look out!" Ace calls, right as I dodge the Nomu thing.
"Shut up will you? I'm trying not to die over here." I yell back. The Nomu charhed at him this time and Ace quickly had to dodge before getting caught.
After a while the Doctor called off the Nomu and ordered it back into the tank.
"Next time do that before it almost kills me." Ace states annoyed, wiping away a bit of blood from his cheek. I crack a smile, Shadow for once seemed absolutely destroyed, not even bothering to get up from the ground.
"Hey child. what's that shadow thing." Shadow looked up at the mention of his name. "He's my quirk. a fucking asshole." Ace nodded slowly, looking at Shadow carefully.
"You're that UA kid right? from the sports festival?" I nod, shifting my mask back in its place at tightening it in the back. "Yeah. And you are?"
"Ace. or Torin, both are fine but with villains I prefer Ace." I nod. "Nice to meet you Ace." I manage a small smile. I think we're going to be friends.

"If we're done here I'm heading back home. I don't want to be late for training again." I tell the doctor, already grabbing my stuff.
"Oh by the way, the red fluid makes people's eyes pop out of their sockets, that's all it does but it usually results in the person dying. I tried it out yesterday." with that I step into the warp gate. Ace following after me.
"That fucking thing ruined my suit." I complain, trying to shift my tie back to its proper state. "Why fight in that anyway? It doesn't seem that practical." I shrug, feeding Shadow a cookie.
"It's fine honestly, it has to be fitting right so it doesn't come in my way while fighting but for the rest, it contains a lot of knives." If that doesn't explain why I wear fancy shit I don't know what will.
