Instead of going to school I start making my way to a familiar part of town. I hadn't been there in a while but I just wanna be away from things right now.
When I finally get to the familiar playground where me and Kacchan used to hang out I see a small girl playing in the sandbox. Her mom is sitting on a bench on the edge of the playground.
The girl looks up at me with big eyes, I give her a small wave and sit down on one of the swings.
"Hey kid." I mutter when the girl comes to sit next to me. "You look like someone I saw on TV." She whispers with a confused smile. "If you say so." The mom looks me up and down for a moment and tells her daughter they're leaving.
"Bye mister." The girl waves me away with a cheery smile. "Bye kiddo." I mutter back.

Every once in a while a child with their parents comes by and starts talking to me but nothing that entertaining. It took a while for Kacchan to find me, apparently a few classes got canceled so he was done early, when he went to the bar and I wasn't there he got concerned, so did Ace because he thought I did go to school. Him and Kacchan had been searching for almost half an hour before finding me.
Kacchan sits down on the other swing and asked why I really skipped school, he had texted Ace that je found me but he wasn't here yet. So I told him about my dream. Needless to say he looked horrified.
"I'm sorry.." I shrug and say I just didn't want to see All Might, nor did I wanna be lectured by Sensei. "Understandable." he mutters. I nod and for a while it's quiet again.
That is until Ace arrives. He was pissed about the fact I lied to him and Kacchan explains why I did so.
"Oh.." Ace mutters sheepishly. "Sorry Child." I shrug.
"It's not your fault is it?" He hesitates for a moment but shakes his head.

We talk for a while before a small girl starts approaching the playground. "We should go before we terrify another kid." Ace states, smiling slightly at the thought. "Another?" Kacchan questions curiously.
"You don't wanna know." I simply say before starting to walk off. "Please don't tell anyone else I skipped." I mutter to Ace, who nods and promises he won't.
Before we can even leave the playground the girl runs up to me and asks for a picture, she's apparently also seen me on TV and was a big fan. I hesitate but nod and crouch down so her dad can take a picture.
He thanks me and apologizes for the disturbance. "No worries man." I mutter, again trying to walk away. But the girl grabs my arm and asks if she could be a hero too, even though she hasn't gotten her quirk yet, she's 7. Kacchan stares at me for a moment, his eyes apologetically.
".. Yeah, I think you can." I mutter, the girl's eyes seem to light up and she hugs my legs. Ace pats my head somewhat proudly. Before anything else can happen the girl's eyes literally light up and she lets go off of me in surprise. She grabs her head, crying out in pain and with tears shining in the corners of her eyes. The dad just looks at his daughter, not doing anything.
Out of her hands comes a thick blue/pinkish smoke creating something that looks like Kurogiri's warp gate. All that comes out of the portal thingy is three other kids.
Three kids, two of them looking an awful lot like me and Kacchan.. From a few years ago. First year of middle school. The third kid now that I look at him looks like Ace, but younger. He's already covering his eyes and now I'm starting to wonder how long Ace has worked for the league.
The girl is still crying but the portal vanishes and I think the pain stopped.
I glance at my friends and see Ace staring at his lookalike in horror, Kacchan just looks guilty, his lookalike now screaming at mine, asking what he did.

"Maybe we have to stop them from killing each other. We don't know what happened." Kacchan mutters. I nod, but first make my way to the girl. I help her up from the ground and tell her dad to bring her to the doctor to get checked out what exactly her quirk is, and how we can get rid of the effects, I give him a note with my number, telling him to text me once he knows and that we'll handle the rest.
"O-ok, yeah I'll do that." He stammers, daughter still crying.
In the meantime Kacchan had broken up the two lookalikes while Ace was still staring at his lookalike, who only stared back.
"Torin, you ok?" I question, both my parental figure and the middle school lookalike turn to me, Ace nods while the lookalike asks how I know his name. We both look at him now, even Kacchan looks up for a moment.
"What the fuck is happening?" He looks at me, as if I know the answer. I don't, trust me.

We figure out that these middle school kids are literally us, from middle school, how or why the girls quirk activated now is still a question but we decide to just keep an eye on the middle school lookalikes. Mini-me starts asking me all sorts of questions.. Until mini-Kacchan starts yelling at him to shut up. Kacchan scoffs and tells him to shut up.
"You're not special kid. trust me you're not." I crack a smile and patiently answer mini-me's questions.

"And did we get a quirk?" I nod. "We did actually." I glance at the untamed version of Shadow, who is staring at mine. I decided not to tell him that Shadow is his quirk, seeing it might screw some things up. Kacchan is now arguing with his mini-self and seems quite invested in winning the argument. I just then realize it's about whether I'm useless or not.
"Deku isn't useless, he's hot!" I crack a smile when the realization on what he said hits him. Mini-Kacchan doesn't say more.
