Y/N's POV
Gray and I had just gotten back from a run to Trader Joe's because we're hosting a dinner in a few days so we needed to shop for ingredients. I was driving and Gray was in the passenger seat scrolling on Instagram. "I can't wait to go home. I need a nap after all that shopping," Grayson said. "How are you tired after only an hour of shopping Gray? I could shop for like 2 more hours," I chuckled at him. He smiled at me and kissed my temple. "God, I love your laugh so much baby." I blushed at his comment and kissed his cheek. "Thanks Gr-." Suddenly, we both turned around as we heard sirens from behind the car. "Shit, are we getting pulled over?," Gray said. "I guess so but I was going the speed limit." I had a feeling on why I was being pulled over but I kept it to myself as I parked the car on the side of the road. On the inside, I was panicking because I didn't know what was about to happen but luckily, Gray was holding my hand and by my side. The white officer knocked on the window and I rolled it down. "How are you today officer?" "I'm doing alright. I need your license and registration now!," he said with such malice in his voice. "Sir, with all due respect, there's no need to get host-." "Step out of the car." "What?" "I SAID STEP OUT OF THE CAR!," he yelled as I got out of the car.Gray's POV
I got out as quickly as Y/N had gotten out and was about to give this cop a piece of my mind. "Hey, don't fucking talk to my girlfriend like that. What the fuck is wrong with you?" "Man, I'm trying to help you out. I don't know why you're defending this black bitch." That really did it for me. He wasn't about to fucking disrespect me or Y/N like that. "You better take your fucking hands off of my girlfriend before I report your ass. You have no right to talk to anyone like that, no matter their gender or race. So I suggest you step off before I call your head of office and get you fired. He gave me a death stare and basically threw Y/N at me and walked back to his cop car. I looked down at Y/N and she was crying into my arms. "I know baby, I know. Do you want me to drive?" She nodded and we both got back in the car. There was a tension in the car that you could cut through it with a knife. I knew Y/N was going to be traumatized from this incident so I wanted to make her comfortable and loved. "Y/N, I hope you know that what that fucking asshole said wasn't true. He was just being a fucking racist." "Thanks Grayson but there are people like that everywhere. I've been told that I'm not the beauty standard because of my skin color. I get followed around in the store when I'm by myself because the workers think I'm gonna steal. I've been pulled over so many times in my life, I can't even count it on my fucking fingers! I fight for my life everyday I wake up Gray. If you weren't in the car with me, I-I-I-I probably would've been shot all because I'm a FUCKING BLACK WOMAN! It's so hard to wake up every damn day basically fighting for my life. I-I-I-." I could see Y/N starting to hyperventilate and hold her chest tightly so I quickly pulled over in an empty parking lot and got out of the car to Y/N's side. I opened her door and bent down to hold her hands. ""Hey, look at me Y/N." She slowly turned her head towards me. "I obviously don't go through what you go through every single day and I feel like sometimes I don't know the right things to say but I do know that I'm always gonna be on your side. I'm always gonna support you and tell you that no matter what anyone else says, you're a beautiful, amazing, successful, black woman and I'm so proud to call you my girlfriend." I kissed her forehead and rubbed her hands.
Y/N's POV
I started to come down from my panic attack and leaned into Gray's chest. "God Grayson, you always know just what to say. I love you so much." "I love you more angel. You know I'll do anything to make you happy," Gray said as he kissed all over my face. I smiled a little and hugged him tightly. "Gray, can we go home now? I just wanna cuddle with you and the dog." He laughed at my comment and kissed me. "Of course we can baby." He hopped back into the driver's side and put his hand on my thigh. "You know I meant every word that I said right?" "Yes Gray and I love you so so much," I smiled at him as we drove back to the house. No matter how much discrimination I face in my life, I know that I will always have Grayson right by my side to defend me.*hey yall! I just wanted to make it clear that police brutality against black people and racism is absolutely disgusting and I only made this imagine with the best of intentions to bring awareness to standing up for black voices. As a young black girl myself, I try to stand up for those black girls who feel like they don't have a voice and this account is a safe space for black people❤❤❤
