Y/N's POV
It was a peaceful Friday night. I had just put my daughter, Sophie to bed. I was watching some Grey's anatomy when I heard Sophie scream my name. "MOMMY!!." I ran to her room to see her crying on her bed. "What's wrong sweetie?". "I had a nightmare about Daddy," she said as she put her head in my chest. I rubbed her back and comforted her. This had been happening ever since your husband, Grayson had been deployed to Afghanistan. He was in the military. It was very hard the day he had to leave. He told you that he was going to be gone for a whole year. You were shocked, sad, and most of all, how were you going to tell your daughter the news?? Sophie was a daddy's girl. Grayson and Sophie would always have Daddy and Daughter days. Sophie was devastated. She missed him so much. "Sophie, it's okay. What happened?". "I had a dream that we went to the airport to see if Daddy was coming home and they told us that he didn't make it". You felt so bad for her. She was so scared for Grayson. "Don't worry baby, Grayson's perfectly fine and healthy. I'll bet he misses us too. That night, Sophie slept with you.
*Next morning
You and Sophie were in your car on the way to the airport to see if Grayson was coming home for good. "I hope Daddy comes home today". "Me too sweetheart". What Sophie didn't know was that you talked to Grayson last night while she was sleep and he was done with his service and was coming back home today.
*Last Night
As I was drifting off to sleep, I heard my phone ring and saw it was Grayson.
G:Hi Princess
Y/N:Hi baby. It feels so good to hear your voice
G:Are you okay?? It sounds like you've been crying
Y/N:No, I'm fine
G:Babe, we've been together long enough. I know when you're lying. Now tell me what's wrong
Y/N:It's just... I haven't seen you in a year. I miss you so much. So does Sophie.
G:Aww, I miss you too baby. Can I talk to Sophie??
Y/N:She's asleep on my lap right now. She had a nightmare about you dying and she's sleeping with the bear you gave her for her 6th birthday. It's the cutest thing ever
G:Well, lucky for both of you. I'm coming home tomorrow
Y/N:Grayson Bailey Dolan, you better not be messing with me
G:Nope, I'm dead serious. I can't wait to see my two angels
Y/N:I can't wait either. I'm gonna surprise Sophie. She'll be so excited. I'll see you tomorrow babe. Love you
G:Love you too
*At the airport
Sophie was bouncing up and down in her chair as she waited to see Grayson. "Mommy, do you think today is the day Daddy comes back home?", she asked with a big smile on her face. "I have a feeling". Suddenly, we saw the plane that held all the soldiers. They had to come out of the plane in alphabetical order by last name so Grayson would be one of the first ones out. Then, I saw him. The man I've been in love with for 7 years now. It's been a whole year. "DADDY!!!", Sophie screamed as she ran to Grayson with tears in her eyes. "Hi princess, I missed you and Mommy so much. I heard you were worried about me. I'm okay baby. In fact, I'm not leaving again". "What do you mean daddy?". "I mean I'm staying here and not going back to the military". Sophie hugged Grayson so tight and jumped into his arms. He put her down and practically ran towards me and gave me a lingering kiss. "I missed you so much Babygirl". "I missed you too Gray". We grabbed Sophie and headed back to the car. Having our whole family back together made me overwhelmed with joy. Grayson and Sophie are my world.
