Y/N's POV Prom night. The biggest night of the year. Especially since we are all seniors and this is our last prom before we all go our separate ways. Well, everyone except me, my best friend Jayda, and my boyfriend Grayson. We all ended up applying to Eastern Kentucky University and all got in. That was a relief to all of us because I don't think I would be able to do long distance with Grayson even though we said we would if we got into a college that was far out. With Jayda, we've been bestfriends since the womb and I know she has my back and I have hers. I was talking to Jayda about what I was wearing to prom when I saw her boyfriend, Ethan, come up behind her and tap her. He had a box with something in it. "Hey E, what's this?". "It's a surprise. Here, open it". She took the box from Ethan and she took the top off and inside was a tiara and some roses and it said, "will you be my princess at prom?".

"Aww, Ethan. You are so sweet. Of course I'll be your princess at prom", she said as she kissed him. "Look closer on the roses", Ethan said. Me and Jayda both looked at them and I saw it first and gasped. "Jayda, it's a promise ring!", I squealed in excitement. Her mouth was wide open and her eyes got watery. "Ethan. Are you serious?". I smiled at them. They were such a good couple. While all of this was happening, I thought that Grayson would come over and ask me to go to prom with him. Yes, obviously we are going together but tonight is different. Tonight is our one year anniversary and I want it to be special considering Grayson is my first serious relationship. It was finally the end of the day and I was waiting for Grayson so I could take him home. I saw him walk out of school sweating probably from P.E. but he looked so good. "Hey Baby", he said as he kissed me. "Hi Gray, do you know what today is?". "Yeah, it's our last day as seniors and then we'll be off to college". "Yeah, and what else?". "And I'm gonna probably hang out with the guys and go shoot some hoops". "Oh, yeah. That sounds fun babe". I can't believe it. He forgot about prom and our anniversary. My eyes started to get glossy. "Hey Gray, can you drive please?? I don't feel really good". "Of course princess". The car ride was silent except for the music playing on the radio.
Gray's POV I knew exactly what today was. It was our senior prom and me and Y/N's one year anniversary. I have a big surprise for her when we get to her house but I felt really bad because she thinks I really forgot but I could never forget the day I asked her to be my girlfriend. We pulled up in front of her house. I could tell she was really upset so I kissed her lips and it took her by surprise but she kissed back. "What was that for?". "Just letting you know that I love you". She blushed and hid her face in my chest. "Hey, be right back. I'm gonna go to the bathroom". "Ok". I was actually going up to her room to make sure her surprise was ready.
Y/N's POV I was watching TV and I was crying the entire time because I was upset that Grayson totally forgot about our anniversary and prom. "Hey baby, can you come in your room for a second?". I sighed as I got up and went upstairs. "Gray, what is it? I was watching my sh-. I put my hands on my mouth as I saw Prom spelled out in big letters with fairy lights on the floor.

"Gray, baby. I love it". "You thought I forgot about the most important day of our lives? I would never forget the day that I met you. I love you baby". I started crying again and hugged him. "I love you too". "I have one more thing for you",he said as he reached into a bag and out came a box. "Open it". I took the box and opened it to find a necklace with G+Y/N on it. I put it on and looked in the mirror at us both. "Grayson, I love this and I love you so much." "I'd do anything for you princess".
