Y/N's POV
I had just gotten out of my last period and I was at my locker when I felt a pair of arms wrap around my waist. I immediately knew it was my boyfriend Grayson. "Hi princess. How was your day today?". "Hi baby boy. It was great. Are you ready for our date?". "Yeah, I'm so excited. I can't wait to go to the library". I kissed his lips and grabbed his hand as we walked out of school. Now I know what you're thinking. A date at the library? Yeah, see Grayson's a nerd but that's what I love about him and I'm just a regular girl who saved him from some bullies one day and went on a date with him and the rest is history. We've been together for a year and today is our one year anniversary. I always let Grayson pick our date spots because he gets so excited if we go somewhere he likes to go. He kinda gets uncomfortable when we go out in public because all the guys are looking at me and he gets jealous but I love my boyfriend. We walked to the Newport library that had been newly renovated. Grayson ran to the door and walked to our spot where we sit everytime we come here but it was taken by two other guys. Grayson's smile turned into a frown. "Don't worry baby. There's plenty of other seats we can sit at". He nodded and found two seats by the biography books. I sat down while he was looking through the books. Suddenly I got a call from my friend Sydney. "Hey Syd. What's up?". "Omg I'm so bored. You wanna come over and binge watch Riverdale?". "I wish I could but I'm with Grayson right now at the library. It's our one year anniversary". "And you're at the library?", she questioned. "Yeah, is there a problem with that?". "No of course not, it's just... why don't you go to a nice restaurant or something?". "Because Grayson picked our date spot and he was so excited about it". "Are you having fun?". I stayed silent as I looked over at Grayson reading a biography about Steve Jobs. "To be honest, I'm really tired and would much rather be anywhere else but the library but Grayson would be devastated if he knew I felt that way".
Grayson's POV
I was reading a Steve Jobs biography and I wanted to show Y/N all the cool details in the book. I walked over to her and heard her talking to someone about me. "To be honest, I'm really tired and would much rather be anywhere else but the library but Grayson would be devastated if he knew I felt that way", I heard her say. I frowned and put the book back. I can't believe Y/N would say that. I thought she loved my date ideas but I guess not. A tear fell down my cheek but I quickly wiped it away.
Y/N's POV
"Bye Syd", I said as I hung up my phone. I looked up to see Grayson with a frown on his face. "What's wrong baby boy?". "I don't feel good, can we just leave?". "Of course babe", I said as we walked back to my apartment. I could tell something else was bothering Gray and I have a bad feeling of what it is. I had went downstairs to get some chips to snack on when I heard whimpers coming from my bedroom. I opened the door and saw Grayson with his head in his hands and his glasses fogging up. "Y/N, I'm sorry our one year anniversary wasn't good enough for you. God I'm such a fuck up. I understand if you don't love me anymore and you want to break up with me", he finished as he sobbed. I felt so bad. I genuinely love all of Grayson's ideas for dates and seeing him happy makes me happy. I went up to him and straddled him while hugging him. "Shhh, baby please don't cry. I'm so sorry I said those things. I really do love all your date ideas and I love you even more. Never forget that", I said as I kissed his face all over and he giggled. "I love you too Princess".
