I'm fuming, I'm red. Pacing in the bedroom as if I have fire on my butt.
How Dare He??!
I'm so angry but mostly hurt. Hurt that Klaus can't trust me enough to tell me what's going on or just tell me where he is going. It should be something dangerous; I just know it because it'll explain all the secrecy.
I feel tears growing at the back of my eyes threatening to spill. I decide to take a seat and breath deeply. This kind of anger can make me do things I'll regret. For now I'll just calm down and wait, when he'll be back we'll talk this out quietly.
I take out my computer and video call Elliott. He picks up after few tries.
" Baby girl?" A smile appears on my face as soon as I see him, my mood lifting in a split of seconds.
" Elliott, I'm so happy to see you. I miss you so much."
" Likewise. I miss you too but my job won't let me take a vacation. Sorry Lizzy." He says apologically. I nod in understanding. I can't ask him to neglect his job duties to spend time with me, that will be selfish of me.
" Hope you're doing fine." I say smiling back at him.
" Of course I'm doing great." I snort at him.
" With take outs, Elliott don't even try to fool me. I know it's all you eat." He grimaces
" For my defense, I'm a busy man. I can't afford the time to cook or all the other things. But.....I have a cleaning service that passes home twice a week. At least the house is always clean." He smiles as if he just said something really relevant.
"Get yourself a girlfriend Elliott or you'll finish alone." I say, he rolls his eyes.
" I'm ending this call if you say one thing about that topic." He deadpans.
" You'll make me think you're gay, you know." Elliott snorted so hard I started laughing.
" There's nothing funny here. I'm single and happy."
" You think you are. You'll realise so many things when you'll find the girl meant for you and you'll regret all your one night stands but don't worry I'll be there to to tell you I told you so when the time comes." I smile brightly at him.
" You talk as if you're my mother."
" I am your mother, Elliott." I deadpanned before exploding in a fit of laughter since I couldn't contain myself anymore.
" Whatever, baby girl." Talking about Elliot's mom or parents in general. I discovered -well he confessed to me- few months ago that he didn't really have parents anymore. He ran his home when he was a teenager because his parents didn't care about him. He took with him some money and did all kind of things he could do as a teenager. He also went to a public school while staying with a bunch of fake friends then when he had finally graduated he went back to his parents house which was four years later.
He discovered that they had died few months ago and left all theirs fortune to him. He grieved and carried guilt for a while before he decided to make something of his life. He got desintoxicated from all his juvenile habits and addictions then went to college.
After college he looked for a little job in Denbyl and moved over to start a new life away from his past. I couldn't find it in me to ask him why he didn't tell me before because of the guilt and pain that reflected on his face when he was talking and the answer to that was crystal clear to me.
Elliott and I talk for while before he finally hangs up to continue working. I sigh and close my computer inhaling deeply.
I feel so alone.
