Few months later
Klaus helped his wife sit on their enormous bed. She seemed exhausted from the thirty minute walk they had just had—doctor’s advice—
She could not more see her legs from where she was, not to talk about massaging them to relieve the pain that where killing her from there.
As if Klaus could read her body aches, he moved away returning with a seat, he placed it infront of her then he picked up her legs, placing them on his thighs. He took his time massaging them one after the other for the longest while till the ache was completely gone.
She felt so grateful for him at that particular moment, not that she wasn’t before this.
Since the last thirty hours, she had been filling aches in her belly, they didn’t go to the hospital for a check-up because Klaus couldn’t feel the kid trying to move out and when she insisted on calling doctor Lee, they had been adviced to take twenty to forty minutes walks every morning and evening. Klaus being the over protective partner he was opted for the middle effort, hence the thirty minutes, half the amount she was used to.
Klaus next helped her to the bathroom for her night time shower bathed her and himself before getting them ready for bed and getting them under the covers.
He sighed at the sight of her body pillow. He couldn’t even hold his own wife because of some ugly pillow. He was capable of taking care of her all she needed and he could be a perfect pillow as he had reasoned the first night the forsaken thing was brought. But Lizza wasn’t having it, she wanted the thing no matter what and he couldn’t refuse that to her at the sight of her teary face so he let her have the stupid thing.
Now he really thought he should have argued more as he fought every night the need to feel her body against his. Klaus sighed heavily as he laid on his back to fall in dreamless sleep.
Klaus was woken up by Lizza’s voice like almost every other night. He helped her out of bed and into the bathroom where she eased herself then he helped her up since she was too heavy for herself and took her back to the bedroom.
The pains she had been feeling throughout that day had exponentially increased so she wanted to be back in bed to tightly hug her pillow for a minimum comfort.
Klaus looked at his uncomfortable wife not knowing what to do as she kept moving and changing positions on their bed from discomfort. He had wanted to call the doctor but Lizza had convinced him it wasn’t necessary so he sat and observed her.
“I need to sit.” Lizza called Klaus for help. He helped her sit and she thanked him laying her head on his shoulder to which he engulfed her in his arms.
“Klaus?” Lizza called a few moments later and he hummed in answer.
“I think my water just broke” she whispered in fear of what was to follow. His gut sank into his stomach. He could feel it.
As if that sentence had switched something in him, Klaus carried her out of bed without a word and into the prepared delivery room. He called for the doctor then changed his wife into the prepared gown for this very moment. An hour later, the room was filled with female doctors and nurses running left and right adjusting machines and utensils for the delivery to start.
Klaus sat at his wife’s side on a seat placed next to her bed and held her hand. He was the epitome of calm on the outside but on the inside, he was both scared and exited. Elizabeth on her side was scared she won’t be able of doing this right.
“Please lay down, Mrs Salvior” Dr. Lee said and Elisabeth complied even though she was in a great amount of pain.
"Klaus" she whispered in fear. Klaus kissed her forehead.
