Alya rolled her eyes. "Nino, you always say that's the night you punched Gabriel Agreste in the face, but I was there, and you did not! One of Timeless' crazed attacks blasted through time and knocked Mr Agreste into the past, swapping him with that poor random antique fireman."

Everyone laughed, though Adrien looked distressed. "You punched my father?"

"Tried to punch your father," Alya corrected. "Mister Noir gave Nino here the Ladybug Miraculous, and I ran off to get Ladybug to stop them, but I didn't need to. Gabriel Agreste was swapped out of time before Nino and Noir even showed up."

Nino grinned, a distant look in his eyes.

"Why would you want to hit my father, Nino?"

The room went strangely silent and a lot of people seemed to take a drink or cough all at once.

Nino looked at Adrien with a seriousness as he said, "You went missing that night, bro. For hours! I noticed. But you know who didn't? Your old man. I was enraged. I don't think it was a good idea, Adrien. I know he's your dad and you're a good son. But I don't apologise for being angry."

Luka was sat on the other side of Adrien. Adrien didn't know him very well, but he liked Luka. It was a surprise when Luka put his arm over Adrien's shoulders. "Nino was the first of us to see how special you are, Adrien. Many of us, in his place, would probably have done the same and let our anger get the best of us."

Adrien felt so loved in spite of himself.

Ladybug and Alya were shocked, the reporters were clucking around, taking snapshots of the pompier, and the pompier was horrified.

Finally a round white circle sliced through time and Bunnyx popped out. "Oh! Minibug! What great timing," she laughed. "I'm sorry I took so long.
"Every time I have to deal with the Citizens' Emperor I'm pretty much guaranteed a long job. That man can smell power, and I think he suspects I have a Miraculous. It's so unfortunate that water pump came from the 1800's instead of the 1700's, before Napoleon decided to bother himself with firefighting."

Ladybug was so relieved to see Bunnyx. "Bunnyx, there's a man here who got swapped in time with Gabriel Agreste! And Adrien is stuck in time too!"

"Why would Mr Agreste get swapped so long after Timeless was already gone?" Alya wondered, making every reporter present press their microphones in Bunnyx' direction.

Mister Noir slipped down next to Bunnyx in front of the cameras. "I think," he purred, drawing all eyes on him, "I can answer that.
"Timeless wasn't bound by time, and neither were its attacks. Obviously, a stray one after it went out of control wound up here, and we unfortunately felt safe with all that seeming to be in the past.
"Timeline messes are always a headache. You can never be sure when it's all done."

Bunnyx side-eyed Noir, but nodded in agreement. "I'll get back the Agrestes and return this poor man." She turned to the pompier, only to groan loudly at the sight of his uniform. "Seriously?!"

Noir grinned and turned away. "I'll meet you at the usual spot, Bunnyx." She grunted an irritated affirmative while trying to stuff a disconcerted and blindfolded 19th century fireman through her burrow entrance.

Mister Noir left, with Ladybug following him as Nino jogged up to meet Alya.

"Later, Lahiffes!" Noir called, a cheeky grin sharking across his face.

Nino waved, until Alya asked, "Did he just say...?"
And they both understood at the same moment.
