The door to the private room was open again. The server invited the person standing outside the door to enter.
Jeon Yoongi quickly greeted, “Eunwoo, we’ve been waiting for you. Quickly, come here!”
He introduced him to Ye Ji Eun, “This is my nephew.”
Ye Ji Eun’s heart skipped a beat when she heard that name. Panic gushed up. Her heartbeat was as loud as thunder. She didn’t even have the courage to look at Lin Eunwoo. With an extremely guilty conscience, she tilted her head to the side.
“Why were you so slow? Everyone has been waiting just for you.”
“Sorry everyone. I was delayed because of work.” Lin Eunwoo seemed very familiar with the people present. He had his smile down to a fine art.
“Alright, that’s fine. Come here. Let me introduce someone to you… Wait no, you’re investing in Ye Corporation. You must know the Ye’s daughter, Miss Ye.”
Lin Eunwoo calmly looked over and saw that Ye Ji Eun was sitting next to Jeon Yoongi. His expression slightly sunk. There was a hint of surprise, but it only lasted for a moment. After that, there was no fluctuation in his expression. He looked as if he recognized Ye Ji Eun, but only as an acquaintance.
“Of course I know her.” Lin Eunwoo’s tone was very light as if she hadn’t been his girlfriend of a few years, someone that he had even lived together with. “Long time no see.”
Ye Ji Eun was very uncomfortable when she heard how flat his tone was. It was as if she was nothing special to him. It felt as if her heart had been hammered by something hard, causing her heart to ache. Even her breathing was no longer smooth. Fortunately, the lighting in this room was dim enough to conceal the unnatural expression brought about by her sadness.
“Long time no see.” Ye Ji Eun slightly lowered her eyes. She didn’t dare to raise her eyes and look at him.
Everyone was clear what kind of identity she was appearing at this sort of place with. Older sister Li’s words on the phone - that she was only coming here to make friends with these wealthy second generation men - had sounded pleasant, but none of these men took her seriously. They only saw her as a plaything to entertain them.
“So you guys really know each other, huh?” Someone boisterously laughed. “Eunwoo, Yoongi said that Ye Ji Eun and her sister look exactly the same, but I don’t believe him. That Jeon Jungkook has such high standards. Even Shen Eunha couldn’t catch his interest and that Ye Lisa was able to get him to treat her like she's a treasure. That’s too ridiculous.”
Lin Eunwoo sat down. There were two people between him and Ye Ji Eun. He smiled. “Of course they’re different.”
“How are they different?”
Lin Eunwoo took a sip of wine. There wasn’t much emotion when he looked at Ye Ji Eun. He was calm as if he was just evaluating an objective fact when he answered, “They don’t share any similarities.”
It had been over a year since they had last seen each other.
When Ye Ji Eun first entered the entertainment circle, he would occasionally pay attention to her news. But the more he saw, the more he saw through her, and the more disappointment he felt. He didn’t understand what was up with Ye Ji Eun, but the more he saw that her behavior had completely changed, as if she was a different person, that disappointment turned into relief.
Perhaps, the past Ye Ji Eun was just an act she put up in front of him and this was her true face. Or maybe, that had been the real Ye Ji Eun, and the present one was the one pretending. But, it didn’t matter either way. When he heard news about Ye Ji Eun now, he didn’t feel anything.
In the past, he didn’t like it when Ye Ji eun drank. But now, seeing her smiling, raising her glass to toast someone, and drinking to the point that she was coughing, he was completely indifferent.
Time was a good thing. With time, you could see others clearly as well as yourself. Time could even dull once ardent feelings.
He didn’t hate Ye Ji Eun for abandoning him, but he wouldn’t dedicate his life to chasing after Ye Ji Eun either.
“By the way, Rowoon, my friend introduced someone to me. I’m sure you’ll be satisfied with her. Do you want to see her?”
Since Ye Ji Eun had entered this room, one of the second generation rich, who was sitting on the sofa and surrounded by beauties, had remained cold.
“Who?” You Rowoon indifferently asked.
That man gave the server, who was standing at the door, a meaningful look. The server tacitly understood, pushed open the door, and left. It didn’t take long for the server to bring back a woman.
