Upon seeing Guan Ming, Qin Jennie knew that Ye Lisa’s vision was right. This person wasn’t lacking in aptitude, he was only missing an opportunity.
“You want to invite me to be the male lead in this movie?” Guan Ming lightly swept his gaze over the script in front of him. He didn’t flip through it. “Director Qin, you won’t want to do this once you understand my current situation.”
“As luck would have it, I happen to know about your situation. You’re not working right now because you’re plagued by negative news. If it was up to me, you wouldn’t be my first choice for this role. However, my boss thinks you’re the best candidate for the male lead role and specially asked me to come in person and deliver the script to you.” Qin Jennie smiled. “My boss said to take back the script if you remain completely uninterested after reading it.”
Guan Ming’s agent was profusely sweating on the side. Even plucking a root from a company like Jeon Corporations would give you enough to eat for a lifetime. Guan Ming couldn’t tell good from bad! If Qin Jennie hadn’t specifically called for Guan Ming, he would have given such a script and backer to Guan Ming.
“Director Qin, Guan Ming doesn’t mean that. Don’t pay attention to those baseless online rumors online. It's all hearsay. Guan Ming isn’t a cheater or the type to drink to excess. He doesn’t even drink!”
Qin Jennie smiled. “I understand.”
Guan Ming had been treading water in the entertainment industry for ten years and had seen a lot too. After a moment of silence, he asked, “Director Qin, you said your boss specially asked you to contact me as well as choosing me to be the male lead. May I ask, who is your boss then?”
Guan Ming didn’t think Jeon Corporation’s busy CEO Jeon would be so bored as to specially order a director to contact him, a third to fourth-line actor.
Qin Jennie thought of Ye Lisa’s words and quietly said, “If you’re willing to accept this role, you’ll naturally find out in the future.”
Guan Ming was silent. He wasn’t optimistic about the outcome. The director didn’t have any independent filming experience and the investor was a company that had never set foot in the film and television industry.
“Then I’ll contact you after I finish reading this script.”
“Sure, no problem.” Qin Jennie left after exchanging a few more words.
She had seen too many people in the entertainment industry, and she could tell that Guan Ming didn’t care about the things that happened in this industry. He only stayed out of a love for acting. And so, she believed that Guan Ming wouldn’t let go of this script.
Sure enough, she received a call from Guan Ming an hour after she returned to Jeom Corporation.
Guan Ming’s words on the phone were very clear. He wanted to act.
“Okay then Mr. Guan, I’ll have my side prepare the contract, and I’ll discuss the details of the contract with you.”
After saying that, Qin Jennie crossed out the last name on the list. She had perfectly completed the task that Ye Lisa had given her.
However, there was no impenetrable wall in the world. As Jeon Corporation’s staff continued to prepare contracts, the news that Jeon Corporation was going to invest in a movie spread like wildfire.
After the media reported this news, people secretly speculated if this was the start of Jeon Corporation investing in the film industry and if it would develop further in the entertainment industry.
Shortly after that news was leaked, many marketing accounts got the news that Jeom Corporation was investing 50 million yuan in Ning Yang.
No one knew who Ning Yang was, and the list of his accomplishments wasn’t much. His only experience in filming TV shows and movies was only as the assistant director.
