"We heard about you, Sword." Cream said. "Gwen told us about you, but I didn't think that you and Gwen were slaves."

"Jagged thought we were weaklings." Sword said. "At the third month after our birth, we went through the slave ceremony and Jagged told us we were chosen "by God" to serve him as slaves. At first, we believed him, but our mom, Rosie, tested our skills out. It turned out we were supposed to be warriors!"

I felt so bad for Sword and Gwen. If I'd never gone on the journey, I would still think that all cats from the dump were heartless, but now I knew better. It doesn't matter where you took your first breath as long as you have heart.

"What is going to happen to us?" Beth asked.

"Well," Gwen said, "You will all have to serve Jagged as slaves by catching rodents or finding anything that only died up to three days ago. Also, you will only be entitled to eat half of the stuff we catch. It's a cruel life!"

By the looks of how thin Sword, Gwen, and Jeanette were, it made sense. No cat could be that thin and still be alive.

"What's going on?" A cat with orange spotted fur asked.

It looked familiar, as if we had met before at someplace. Then I remembered the cat from the battle with Jagged. It was the same cat who had saved us!

"Nothing." Jeanette said. "By the way, his name is Lightning, from a house not too far away. He got caught the same day I did."

"I saved you madams and sirs for a reason." Lightning said. "When I saw you about to get killed, I jumped in along with Sword to stop good cats from dying."

So the prisoner and Ra33 was none other than Sword and Lightning.

"Why aren't you with Thorn right now in the prisoner's den?" Gold asked.

"After I was caught, they decided that I should become a slave." Lightning explained. "They even gave me a slave name of my own, Le103. Sword is Ra33."

"My slave name is A5." Gwen said.

"I'm a little confused." Tom said. "I heard Jagged say Gwen before, not A5."

"Jagged can call us our real names." Sword explained. "He gave us code names because he was being as cruel as usual. It is okay to call us by our real names."

"I'm worried about Thorn." Cream said. "Most likely Jagged will sentence him to death."

I was worried about Thorn as well. There was no doubt that Jagged would try to kill his brother. After all, he treated him like dirt during the meeting.

"I don't want to be a slave again!" Jeanette yowled. "I don't want to do anything for that evil cat."

"We've got no choice." Gwen said. "If we don't obey him, he could easily kill all of us."

"I can't accept this!" I yowled. "I think we should stand up to Jagged. Thorn will be killed if we don't."

Gold and Lightning nodded after my outburst. After I had met Gold the day after the storm, I realized that there was bravery in all cats, big or small. When Gold saved us from the Hound, I saw his inner strength. Whatever Gold was like as a human shined through his body as a cat. Maybe one day we would find out his story.

"I agree with Maxine." Gold said. "We can't let that sir Thorn get killed by Jagged. If one of us dies, we all die as a team."

"For once in my life, I agree with Gold." Beth said. "Let's fight!"

In the end, we all agreed to train for the fight. Since Lightning could fight so good, we all agreed he should train us for the battle. We all had to act as normal as possible, so Jagged wouldn't find out.

That night, my life changed forever. I found myself in a field full of various flowers. The sun was out completely with no clouds out at all. The whole team was there, cheering.

I didn't know what they were cheering about, until a gray cat with black stripes and blue eyes walked by at Lightning's side. The cat's mouth was tied and he had a bad scratch on his back. He tried to speak, but his mouth wouldn't move.

"We caught him!" An older looking Jeanette yowled.

There was some kind of hole in the center of the field, a portal to another time. The cat was pushed into the portal, yowling as he went through. The portal then started to get stronger. Lightning all of a sudden looked evil.

"I'm sorry I'm doing this," Lightning said, "But I've got no choice. Master is depending on my success to kill Gold and the strongest members of Gold Whisker."

Then Gold, Thorn, Jeanette, Cream, and myself were starting to get sucked into the portal. Lightning laughed in an evil way as the strength the portal produced got stronger. Sword, Beth, and Tom looked horrified.

"How could you Lightning!" Beth said, completely shocked. "I thought we were friends!"

Lightning jumped into the portal as we all got pushed inside. Then everything went blank. I woke up shaking, confused about the dream. If only I had known the truth in my dream.

(Note: Now that we got that dream sequence out of the way, it time to tell you guys finally what my plans for Lightning were going to be if I continued writing the Gold Whisker series. He was going to be a surprise villain at the end of book two or the middle of book three. Like revealed this chapter with Gold by Maxie unexpectedly, Lightning was once a human himself, serving the evil entity Gold is trying to stop. Both are from a dystopian future, where the evil cat Gold mentioned gained full power and took over the world. Somehow, both Lightning and Gold were transported to the past, where Lightning retained his memories while Gold lost them. Lightning's mission is to get Gold back to the past before his memories come back and he takes down the evil cat before it gets too powerful. As for the third cat, he was Gold's pet, who was separated from his owner and was trying to complete Gold's mission for him, being mistaken as a villain due to Lightning manipulating all of Gold Whisker.

Lightning was going to transport some of Gold Whisker into the future, where a friendly panther was going to lead them to another portal back into the past. Lightning would follow them and in a murder attempt to take Gold down for good, Tom was going to sacrifice himself in a fight to take Lightning out for good.

As some of you can tell here, I was heavily inspired in plot by the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series, particularly Explorers of Sky. Unfortunately, it appears I was a bit too inspired by the RPG game and ripped it off quite a lot in the plan for the upcoming story's plot. So not only did I rip-off Warriors, but I ripped-off a Pokémon spin-off title too. Boy, did I really not have a lot of inspiration for an original story when writing Gold Whisker twelve years ago...)
