I saw the pain in Tom's green eyes when I said that.  Gold's ears drooped down, mourning her.  Cream was crying, the tears running into her silk coat.  She had known Jeanette so well.  Even though Jeanette didn't go outside, her masters knew my masters well and always brought Cream to our house to bond with other cats.

That was when I ran.  I started running faster and faster, far away from the group.  Maybe if I opened my eyes now, everything would be back to normal, with Tom, Cream, and Jeanette.  This nightmare would end!

The tears came out as I remembered Jeanette.  I remembered when me and my sister first arrived.  She always said that she would never leave her new home.

"Why did you have to leave?"  I told myself.  "Why, oh, why!  Why couldn't you have stayed at home, safe and sound."

At one point I fainted.  The next thing I remembered was waking up in a field full of flowers.  At first I thought I had died and gone to Heaven.  Then I heard Beth's voice.

"I once lost a family member."  Beth said slowly.  "It was my sister, Jessie.  She was born with a hole in her heart.  When she was only seven months old, she died."

Then everyone else came over.  Gold was carrying a plump mouse in his jaws.  It made Gold look heroic, carrying the enemy he despised.  As he placed the mouse down, I saw the black cat.  His eyes were friendly and forgiving.

"My name is Thorn."  The cat said.  "I'm very sorry about your sister, Jeanette."

"You're all acting like Jeanette is dead!"  I screamed.  "She has to be here, come on cats.  We're a team for crying out loud."

"We're Gold Whisker."  Gold said.  "The strongest group of cats, defeating darkness and bringing peace to the world!"

"And why do you get to name it?"  Beth questioned.  "I think Maxine should name the group."

I couldn't believe what Beth had said.  I used to think Beth was sassy, but she seems to have heart.  Maybe I should have changed the name, but I couldn't decide on a name.

"Let's keep it Gold Whisker for now."  I said.  "Gold did start it in the first place."

"We need to find Jeanette."  Tom said.  "She couldn't be that far.  After all, it happened about two hours ago by the looks of it."

"We need to keep moving."  Thorn said.  "I don't know much about that Jeanette like the rest of you, but we don't know where she even is.  One last favor, may I join your group."

We all said yes to his membership.  All of us knew he would make a great defense in attacks and he knew how to hunt better than all of us combined.  Also, he was right about Jeanette.  If we started looking for Jeanette now, we may never be able to focus on our mission and be too late to stop the evil.

The next day we continued on our mission with the thought of Jeanette still in our heads.  It was cold and foggy in the outside world.  At first we thought that everything would be the same, with us continuing with our journey.  Boy were we wrong.

We were near the smooth roads, with many cars and trucks.  What we saw next changed the course of our adventure.

"It's Jagged!"  Cream screamed.  "And he has a bunch of cats with him!"
