"So are you ready for tomorrow?" Leia asked, rubbing her hands together against the cold. Michael smiled at her small form. She had her knees tucked up to her chest and her arms wrapped around her legs, bracing herself against the cold night air. She always slept in tank tops and shorts but always seemed to forget to bring out a jacket to their late night rendezvous. Michael shrugged off his jacket and she accepted it gratefully.

"I guess." Was Michael's meager reply. He didn't want to sound over excited but he didn't want to be underwhelmed either. He was just, a safe neutral.

"Just I guess?" Leia asked, smiling at him before nudging his shoulder. Michael shrugged, laughing lightly.

"Yeah, just I guess." Michael repeated. Leia frowned.

"Are things not good between you and Alyssa?" She asked, arching an eyebrow. Michael licked his lips, shrugging.

"Well things aren't bad."

"But they aren't good either." Michael didn't reply. Leia sighed. His silence was answer enough. Leia was always good at reading Michael's silence. "Do you not like her?"

"I like her." Michael said slowly, as if he was afraid Alyssa was listening in.

"But you don't like her like her." Leia emphasized. Michael snorted, rolling his eyes before staring at her.

"What is this? Fourth grade?" Leia laughed and rolled her eyes back at him.

"No idiot I'm just saying. Why do you want me to say love?" Michael shrugged. Leia laughed lightly as she watched him stretch out his long legs and lean back next to her on the palm of his hands. The wind blew his hair up and around, out of his eyes. Leia smiled. "Are you trying to tell me you want to break up with her?" Michael shrugged. "Don't shrug at me Michael Clifford!" Leia said, shoving him. Michael swayed back, laughing.

"I don't know Leia." He replied honestly.

"Come on, it's okay. Just tell me." Leia encouraged. Michael didn't look at her. He knew if he did, he would spill everything. Instead, he kept his eyes fixed on his house in front of them, his hands icily pulling up some of the grass around them.

"I guess I am." He murmured. "Alyssa's a nice girl she's just.." He didn't know how to finish that sentence. If he spoke another word he knew it would end with 'She wasn't you.' Leia smiled softly and leaned her head against his arm.

"It's fine Michael." Leia said softly. "I knew she liked you and I thought you two would be good together." Michael snorted. "It's true!"

"You say that about a lot of your friends." Michael pointed out. It was true. There was always at least one friend Leia had that liked him.

"Well a lot of my friends like you." Leia said, inching closer to him. Michael easily put his arm over her shoulders and Leia leaned back against him. "A lot of them also thought we were together for the longest time." Michael glanced down at her, surprised.

"Seriously?" He asked. Leia giggled and sat up to look at him.

"Yeah. I told them they were crazy. I mean, you're my best friend! My partner in crime. My Han Solo in the most platonic way possible." Michael tried to make his smile look genuine. "They always tell me that's wrong." She said with a shrug. "If we had a platonic relationship, you would be Chewbacca or R2-D2 or something." She continued, rolling her eyes. Michael nodded. "Whatever though right?" Michael kept nodding as Leia leaned back into him. "So, when were you thinking of breaking up with her?"

"Well..." Michael said, drawing out the L. Leia sat up and hit his arm.

"No Michael. You can't break up with her tomorrow! Not in front of Ash and I!" Leia exclaimed.
