As it turns out, Leia didn't have much explaining to do. Mrs. Hemmings didn't assume anything when her daughter came home, she didn't even ask why she was there. Michael was Luke and Leia's best friend and the trio always tore through both the Clifford and Hemmings household, especially in the wee hours of the night.

"I can't believe she didn't ask." Michael said to Leia that day at school. Leia laughed lightly, covering her mouth with her hand.

"I know. She must really trust you and me for that matter." Leia said with a shrug.

"Yeah what's up with that. I don't trust you two alone." Calum said, kicking his feet up on the desk. Michael glared at him while Leia looked at him a bit confused but smiling all the same.

"What do you mean?" Leia asked. Calum opened his mouth to explain and Michael opened his to shut him up but somebody else spike before them.

"Mr. Hood, feet off the desks. Sit like everyone else please." Their teacher scolded. Calum merely shrugged and set his feet on the ground while Leia giggled behind her hands. Michael continued to glare at him until he caught his eye. Calum shook his head. He wouldn't say anything. He hadn't for years now. He wouldn't throw Michael under the bus like that.

--

Alyssa ran to catch up with him, his legs were longer than hers after all. She shouted his name for the third time. "Michael!" This time, he finally turned. Luke hit his shoulder and Calum glanced back at her confused before he and Luke both walked away from Michael. Alyssa hadn't heard what he said to them but they must know they're not together anymore. They were probably just wondering what Alyssa wanted.

Breathing in and out slowly, Alyssa looked up at him. "You okay?" Michael asked, it seemed like she had been running for a while.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Have you talked to Leia today?" Alyssa asked, straightening out. Michael furrowed his eyebrows.

"Yeah, she was at my house this morning and we have classes together." Alyssa nodded.

"Yeah, yeah I know but did she tell you.. Anything?" Michael continued to look confused. "She didn't. My god Leia." Alyssa said hitting the heel of her hand against her forehead before raking her hand through her hair.

"What? What is it?" Michael asked slightly scared now.

"She went to that party right? And you picked her up?" Michael nodded. What was the big deal. All he did was pick her up. Was Ashton pissed? How could he be pissed? Leia was Michael's best friend long before Ashton was her boyfriend. He has no right to be pissed. "Well Ashton knows that she slept over at your house that night."

Alyssa seemed almost defeated as she said this, but Michael didn't notice. It had become clear to Alyssa, nearly right after Michael had broken up with her that Michael was actually in love with Leia. There was no doubt about it. It was so obvious, Alyssa was almost embarrassed for trying to be with him.

"So? She's slept over before."

"Yes but you don't know Ashton okay? He has a short fuse and Leia told him for god knows whatever reason and he's coming here."

"When?" Michael demanded.

"Right now." Alyssa replied.

"Why? What is he going to do?"

"I don't know but Leia is scared Michael. He yells at her sometimes. He hasn't hit her as far as I know. Leia is adamant that if he does, they're through but I don't know what to do. They're meeting in the parking lot." Alyssa rushed out, her words tripping over each other as she spoke.
