KATH P.O.V
The taxi dropped me off the front porch of the apartment. I dragged my bags with me, but then a dark haired man came running down the stairs.
"Are you Ms. Wong?" He asked, panting, catching for air. Woah , woah, woah, should I suppose to know him? It's New York afterall.
"Yes I am"
" I am Ronald ma'am. The assistant of the manager" he said as he helped me carry my bags. We got inside the building and he placed my bags in the elevator. The apartment looks very good, very high class type. Well of course my mom chose this.
"Here is your room key" He hands me a golden key and a swipe card. It feels and looks like a hotel. There a lounges and the building is air-conditioned. When the elevator dinged I push my bags in front of me and pulled it out again. I push my door open and the first thing I saw was a huge couch in the center then on the left is a queen size bed and on the right is a queen size bed as well.
"Well this is it" I sighed, roaming around the room. I sat on the bed and buried my head on my hands.
4 MONTHS LATER
There's still no news from Samantha, sometimes it all gets a little to much. I cry myself to sleep for the first weeks I stayed here.
Here in NYU is pretty challenging, you'll meet new people and adjust to your surroundings. The bell rung for the next subject and thank goodness Laboratory is my next subject. I passed by the canteen to grab a bottled water.
I met a few friends here, but all of us have different schedules. "Hey Katalina!" I heard someone called out.
Well here they call me by my real name and I just got used to it. I turned around and saw Maddison waving. "Hi!" I greeted back waving my hand. There are no 'it' girls in college but there are some students that they gush about.
Gabby is on the other building. Arts and communication building as they would call it. When I got my water I race up to the 3rd floor for my next class. I think we'll be studying the brain? laboratory thing, I'm actually not sure of it.
When I sat on my chair my phone buzzed immediately. I ignored it because maybe it's my mom, bugging me if how were things here in the big city. I irritatingly pulled my phone out.
Stefan
Oh. My. Goodness. Stefan haven't called me since I left. My knees started to weaken and tears just sprung out of my eyes in out of my control.
"Hello?"
"She's awake" He said, his voice weak and there's a hint of happiness in the end. " I booked your flight with Gabby. " He said
I am speechless. Relieved. I am the happiest girl on earth right now.
"Hello?" He said on the phone. I held my phone tighter and smiled "I'll call you back" I breathlessly said on the phone and hung up. The next thing I know I am already running.
Adrenaline rushes to me. I run fast heading towards the Arts and communication building, I then saw Gabby running towards me too. She's crying, her eyes red in tears, but she was smiling.
We stood facing each other then as soon as we reached each other. I hugged her tight and she did as well. She knows. She knows. She knows.
When I finally got back to my senses I speak up. "Stefan booked up already, tonight. I think it's for both of us. " I smiled. I pulled my phone out and fish for Felix's number.
"Oh you're calling him?" Gabby said "I called him already " She giggled. I rolled my eyes and hugged her again. "Finally" I whispered.
