"Coin gave us permission to hunt above ground," Gale said and I looked up at him and then back down at Prim. "Okay I'll be ready in a few moments," I slid out of bed and kissed Prim's head. "Katniss?" Prim whispered her voice thick with sleep, "it's okay Prim I'm just going hunting I'll be back before you know it go back to sleep."
The 14 year old nod then fell back asleep. I got dressed and got my bow and quiver. Then we went above ground and I see the forest and I relax feeling like it is home. 12's was not as beautiful as this but this is how Johanna described 7's where she lived. We started to track deer and then I went to shoot but the buck looked at me then looked back not caring about us.
"He doesn't care," I whispered and Gale nod, "they've never been hunted before." I lowered my bow. "It's unfair to kill him then. We can get birds instead." I walked away and soon we were at a little river, and I was sitting down thinking about Johanna tracing my tattoo subconsciously.
"Katniss," I turned to Gale and he looked at me. He smiled and lend into to kiss me but I push him away, "Gale I have a soulmate." Gale moved forward, "but she's not here I am and a kiss won't hurt." Gale went to kiss me again this time he grabbed me and pulled me in kissing me. His lips were rough, and I was trying to pull back, but his hand was on the back of my neck. Eventually when he pulled back I let the tears fall, "I'm here Katniss. Johanna is probably dead and I'm the next best option so you have to be with me." I slapped him hard and he grunted, "I am not an object Gale!"
"Johanna is dead! Peeta is a traitor! How am I not your next option!" I pushed him off me, "I. DON'T. LOVE. YOU!" I screamed and got up and ran away Gale following me. Gale grabbed me and pushed me against the tree, "you are just playing hard to get." Gale kissed me again but this time I had an arrow out and I stabbed him in the stomach. Gale screamed and I pulled back and ran as far as I can away from him until I got back to 13's underground entrance.
Once I was there, I ran straight to Haymitch. Once I found the sober man with Effie I jumped into his arms and started to cry my heart out. "Sweetheart?" Haymitch was surprise but concerned. I just kept crying. "Katniss? Honey?" Effie whispered then rubbed my back softly, "shh it's okay now we got you." I heard someone running over and I flinched but it was just a man trying to get behind us.
Haymitch slowly pulled me back and he stared at me in shock then turned to Effie then back to me, "What happened sweetheart?" I sobbed and Haymitch led me into his room then put me down on the chair. Effie was beside me. "Gale... he..." Haymitch got up and stormed to the door, "Haymitch." Effie said but he was already out the room. I couldn't say the word but they already knew what happened. Effie brought me to the bed and held me as I cried.
