Chapter Twenty One: Katniss's POV

Peeta hit the force field and I screamed. Finnick kept pumping his chest but his heart won't start again. I cried. The one person that didn't deserve this died all because of me. This is my fault. He's dead and I couldn't save him.

"Katniss," I looked up at Finnick with tears in my eyes. I lent down and kissed Peeta's head, "I'm sorry." I got up and Finnick carried Mags and I moved along the forcefield throwing rocks at it. When I got to a big tree I turned to Finnick, "stay here." I climbed up the tree and shot an arrow up into the sky and hit the force field.

When I got down I explained the forcefield to Finnick and Mags and we set up camp Finnick taking the first watch but I couldn't sleep. "I'm sorry I couldn't save him," I turned to Finnick and responded, "Peeta was a good person he didn't deserve it but I knew you did everything in your power to help him." I looked at the ring on my finger, "with Peeta gone that means I can be with my soulmate doesn't it? I can actually be with Johanna? I don't have to fake it anymore?"

Finnick looked to me, "you love her don't you?" I smiled and played with my engagement ring, "she's all I ever think about. She's the love of my life. Most people say they don't deserve there soulmates that they don't want them but when you've been in the games and there is someone that will love you even if you are broken you keep them and never let them go."

The sky lit up with the fallen tributes and I see Peeta's name up then and I sighed, "I never loved him. I was just surviving and didn't want to kill anymore. I never wanted to kill but I was made to." Finnick smiled, "Johanna loves you Katniss."  I smiled, "that would explain why she wants to marry me."

I heard the sound of a package and I hope that it's water. I opened and see a waterspout that you put into trees. I grabbed it and went to the nearest tree and then fresh water poured out and I took a long drink followed by Finnick then he got a leaf and took some to Mags.

I washed my hands and put my head under the water then Finnick came back. I took it out of the tree after we were done drinking then put it away. "Get some sleep Katniss," Finnick said then took the first watch. After I was on watch I watched fog roll it but I felt strange I went over to touch it and I screamed out, "Finnick!" I screamed, "don't touch the fog it's poisonous!" I started running away from the fog. Finnick screamed and I ran over to help him but Mags quickly got down, "Mags?" The older woman kissed Finnick softly then walked into the fog. "MAGS!" Finnick screamed and I helped the man up and helped him ran. I heard a cannon and I let a tear fall.

"We have to go Finnick!" We run until we fall down a hill but as we stopped I couldn't get up I was in so much pain but then the fog stopped like a wall was in the way.
