I was sitting in the holding room when Haymitch came in, "you certainly know how to make a show sweetheart." I smiled at Haymitch, "I did what had to be done. Plutarch has a letter for you." I shook my head, "I don't want it." Haymitch smirked, "you never make it easy on me do you.

Katniss... Maybe the country was shocked tonight by your arrow but once again I was not. You were exactly who I believed you were. I wish I could give you the proper goodbye but the fate of the country will be decided tonight and I can't be seen at your side. Tonight the twelve district leaders will call for the free election. There's little doubt that Paylor will carry it she's become the voice of reason. I'm sorry so much burden fell onto you and I know you'll never esacpe it. But if I had to put you through it again for this outcome I would, The war is over. We will enter that sweet period when everyone agrees not to repeat the recent horrors. Of course collective thinking is usually short lived. We're forgetful and stupid beings with poor memories and a great gift for self-destruction. Although who knows? Maybe this time we'll learn. What I admire in you most Katniss even more then your knack for survival is your instinct for justice. Sometimes a leader's nothing more then a light on a winding path. You were that light for so many of us. I've secured you a ride out of the Capitol. It's better for you to be out of sight. But when the time is right Commander Paylor will pardon you. The country will find it's peace. I hope you can find yours. Plutarch."

I looked up at Haymitch, "what do we do now?" He smiled, "we go home. I know your wife will be happy you are back in 12 and safe." I smiled and we went out of the building and I saw Effie with her wig but not as much make up, "Effie." I hugged the woman and she kissed my cheek, "go home Katniss. Enjoy your life you deserve it." I hugged the woman again and we went on the ride home. I looked at both Haymitch and Effie who were hugging, "now don't be a stranger." Haymitch smiled and Effie pulled him into a kiss and I smiled, "I'll be there in a few weeks then I'm not leaving again Haymitch. I will never leave and no one can keep us apart noe."

Haymitch pulls Effie in and kisses her again.

-12 days later-

I was sitting in my home alone until I heard a meow. I went and saw Buttercup. "She's gone," I said and the cat just sat and meowed. "SHE'S GONE PRIM IS GONE GET OUT!" I screamed and cried but the cat just stayed there staring at me. I picked up the cat and held him close crying into his fur. I kept crying until I heard the door open and once our eyes meet I heard, "honey I'm home." I ran over and jumped into Johanna's arms crying into her neck. "It's okay I'm here and I'm not going anywhere. I'm here Forever and Always Kitty Kat," Johanna kissed my head.

-5 Years Later-

I was sitting in the meadow of a field watching Johanna play with our daughter. I smiled and then our son in my arms started crying, "hey shh it's okay baby I got you it was just a nightmare." I kissed his head, "it's okay I got you it was just a nightmare." His grey eyes looked up at me and I smiled, "that's it Jack I got you." He reached up and held my face with his tiny hand, "hey baby boy looked over there who's that is that Laura and Mama playing. See the nightmares will go away. Because we are here to protect you from them," I whispered to my 1 year old and kissed his head. "We will protect you forever. You and your sister mean the world to us and we will protect you both from the monsters."

Jack looked up at me and I kissed his head, "I got you baby boy." I held him and Johanna looked over to us and Laura jumped on her and I giggled as my wife was tackled by our 4 year old daughter.

"This is life. This is the life of a victor. This is the life I've wanted since the moment I first meet her. And I'm happy. And happiness is all I need," I smiled to myself. "Johanna we need to go Finnick and Annie are going to be here soon with Zander," my wife picked up our daughter and then came over to us. "Hey my handsome little man and my beautiful wife," Johanna smiled and helped me up. "Let's go Kitty Kat," Johanna smiled and she wrapped an arm around my neck as we walked back home to victors village. "Johanna," my wife looked at me and I smiled, "I love you." Johanna smiled, "I love you too Forever and Always Kitty Kat."
