"Ladies and Gentlemen this year's winners of the 74th Hunger Games," Crane announced and Peeta and I put down the berries. He smiled at me then rushed forward kissing me but I knew we were on camera so I couldn't push him away from me so I just stood still responsive to his kiss.
The aircraft that brought us here landed and we both got on. I traced the name of my tattoo scared about Johanna's reaction to Peeta's and my "love story". Peeta I think thinks this is real that I actually love him but that couldn't be further from the truth. I don't hate him but the only reason I didn't kill him to win was because I didn't want more blood on my hands then I do already. As we got to the Capitol I see Haymitch and Effie waiting.
Haymitch took me to Cinna and then while we were there he closed and locked the door, "look sweetheart you need to keep this love story going you just one upped the Capitol and they don't react kindly to what you did so from now on you are to be with him. You have to pretend to be madly in love. Like the thought of not being with him would kill you. Katniss the Capitol will do anything it takes to kill you if you become a threat."
I nod as Cinna got me washed and dressed, "Haymitch is-"
"Mason... Johanna will understand what's at stake better than most," Haymitch said, and I looked to the floor. "Now why did you try and eat those berries?" Haymitch asked and I looked at him, "because I can't live in a world without him." Haymitch nod, "I'm sorry sweetheart."
We went out and there was an interview and we got threw it I looked at him like I loved him and he looked at me with those same puppy love eyes but problem is he isn't faking what he feels. The crowd cheers for us and the felt panic raise up in me hearing the loud noise before I could have a full blow panic attack I smiled and ended the interview. As soon as I was out of the sights of Cameras. I started to cry and I felt two arms wrap around me but I just pushed Peeta away. "Come with me Katniss," Haymitch helped me up then took me up in the elevator, but it was a shorter ride then normal. I looked up as the doors opened and I see chocolate brown eyes and I felt my dam break.
I flew into Johanna's arms and cried into her neck. I felt safer in her arms, and I just kept crying until I couldn't cry anymore. As my sobs slowed down Johanna picked me up and carried me to her bedroom and laid me on the bed. She laid beside me, and I cuddled into her neck, "it's okay I'm not leaving you anytime soon Kitty Kat." Johanna kissed my head and held me.
"I'm right here. I love you Kitty Kat," Johanna's whispers were the last thing I heard before sleep over came me.
