TWO YEARS LATER...

Rachel pov...

The past two years that had passed were perfect, I guess the fightings between Leah and I were as a result of us getting to know each other and accepting we were married to one man.
After that fight, we never had another, we disagreed at times, but my sister would soon resolve things as the elder one.
Even when I was wrong, she still apologized, making me feel guilty.
We made our husband happy and in return, he showered us with love and passion.
Jacob was made an elder at the chef's council, because of how he showed responsibility, both to his family and community.
Leah was pregnant with her third child and we were all looking forward to a new baby in the house.
Unfortunately, God hadn't opened my womb yet, so I was still waiting and praying.

8 months later...

" Honey hurry up, she needs to get to the hospital as soon as possible!" I shouted for Jacob, who was outside getting the car ready.

Leah was due and she needed to get to the hospital, she was panting in pain, and anxiousness, I didn't know, I hadn't been pregnant before.

" Relax ok, "I tried to calm her down as I helped her walk slowly.

" Rachel am in pain," she cried, tightening her hold on my dress, almost pulling it off my body.
" Easy there," I cried, getting a hold of her hand.

Jacob walked in and carried her to the car.

" Mum Rachel? Is mummy going to be ok," Abigail asked.

" Yes she will be fine, don't worry," I assured her, pulling her and Issac in an embrace.

Leah's pov...

Rachel had taken care of the children very well for the two days I had been in the hospital, even better than I did with them.
Especially during my pregnancy, I would get sick often, so looking after my child was hard.
They would spend time at her house, sometimes even at night.

" He is very cute," Issac said, looking at my baby, who was in Rachel's hands.
" I know right," she answered, smiling at the newborn.

" Mum Rachel, you are squeezing his leg," Abi noticed, pointing at my poor baby's legs, that was crushed by Rachel's enormous hand.

" Am sorry little one," Rachel said playful and smiled after putting his leg properly.

" Please be careful," I cautioned her and she nodded.

" How do you expect her to be careful, when she has never held a child, "Elizabeth spoke and I could see Rachel look at her annoyed.

" Elizabeth don't say that," I whispered, hitting her an elbow.

" Here," Rachel handed the baby back to me," I need to go and prepare Jacob's food,"

I nodded as I took the baby.

" How could you say that to her face?" I asked Elizabeth immediately after Rachel walked out.

" I was just protecting the little one's foot," she defended rolling her eyes in annoyance.

E

lizabeth didn't lie when she said Rachel hadn't held a baby before, she didn't have to brush it to her face, especially in front of Adi and Issac.
When they were Abigail and Issac were born Rachel had a restraining order, I would call it that, not to be seen around the house, until the six years were done.
Back home, she wasn't the type to go around carrying people's children, so Elizabeth was kinda right...

I saw Rachel and her friend Hannah washing, so I walked to them.

" Hi, Hannah?" I greeted the girl who was seated on the grass, watching her friend wash.

" Hi Leah, how is the baby?" She asked.

" The baby is ok," I answered maintaining my smile,
" Rachel, am sorry for Elizabeth's remark yesterday, I hope you were not offended?"

She shook her head," no don't worry," and she cooked up a smile.
You could tell from the tone of her voice that she was, but I cared less.

" Will you help me Wash these clothes?" I asked dropping a basket of clothes for her.

" Yes sure, I will," she agreed and I left immediately some sweet words of appreciation.

Rachel's pov...

" Rachel all these clothes, are you going to manage?" Hannah worried, glancing down at the clothes Leah had brought and at Leah who was walking away.

" Yes, I will," I answered, barely sparing her a glance.

" So just because she has a baby, you are going to allow her to treat you like a maid?"

" Hannah please," I cut the conversation and she lifted her hand in surrender.

" So, what remark did Elizabeth say, that Leah was apologizing for?" She asked, changing the subject.

" I had accidentally squeezed the baby's leg, and Adi noticed, so she told me to put it properly," I explained, trying not to get emotional," Leah told me to be careful but Elizabeth added saying how could I know how to lift a baby as if I have ever held one,"

" And you told your sister it was fine... Elizabeth needed to apologize for coming out so offensive," she said narrowing her eyes.

" What difference will it make, moreover, she was right," I defended rolling my eyes.

Despite my sister having two children before the baby, I never had a chance to leave or play with Abi and Issac when they were babies because it was the period Jacob was working for my bride price.
I wasn't allowed to be anywhere near the house even after the two were born.
So somehow Elizabeth was right, I had never held a baby before.

" That doesn't mean anyone can say anything they like, just because you haven't had a child yet, doesn't mean it won't come," she comforted annoyance sounding in her voice.

" What if I never give birth....., I really want to give my husband a child Hannah, not just a child, but children," a tear dropped down my cheek.

" Don't say that, it might delay but that doesn't mean you will never have one," she assured me wiping my tear.

" I hope so," I titled.
