Rachel pov...

As I was heading to the market, I overheard two girls gossiping immediately I passed them.

" She forced herself into her sister's marriage, now look at how life is punishing her, nine years in marriage now, yet childless," the girl In a yellow dress spoke.

" It should be a lesson for women in our society," the other girls said, shaking her head in pity.

I became a lesson to women, wow.
God knows I never forced myself into anyone's marriage, Jacob was supposed to marry me,
me not Leah, but because of our tradition, I had to do what I could to keep my man.
These stupid people just got smoke leaving fire and drove stupid lessons.
But I didn't blame them, I had put all the blame on God, why couldn't he have just given me a child, that would have kept those people quiet.

With frustration, I turned to Hannah's house instead.

" Rachel?" She called running towards me, as she saw me entering her yard weeping painfully,
" Why are you crying?''

Upon seeing her house, all the hateful comments came running to my mind, making me cry helplessly.
Have you ever felt hurt, in front of someone who should make you feel better, not because they are doing something to hurt, but their face is a shoulder enough to let it all out.

She walked me to the cordial and helped me sit.

" What's wrong with you? why are you crying?" She asked staring at me worried.

" Hannah? Am tired of people talking.....can you imagine almost my whole way.......I heard people say the nastiest things, it's too much.....," I told her, between my sobs.

" Rachel!" She shouted annoyed," I have always told you to stop paying attention to the no sense they say. As long as people have mouths, they will keep talking..... look at me, am not married at my age, but I don't cry my eyes out. People do talk about me as well, but I have concluded, crying or paying attention won't bring me marriage....., try that,"

" But Hannah....." hardly had I finished my sentence when tears welled down my cheeks and my face winced to force more tears out.
Seeing this, she pulled me in a comforting embrace.

After staying at Hannah's for the whole day, I decided to head back home and She walked me there.

Upon reaching, we found what looked like a party at Leah's house, they were a lot of children and the place was decorated with balloons, flowers, and children's toys.

" There is a party at your here?" Hannah asked whispering to my ears.

" I don't know, am also wondering," I answered continuing to move forward.

" Hi Rachel, Hannah?" Elizabeth who was behind  greeted us, causing us to turn.

" Hi Elizabeth, there is a party here?" I asked curiously looking around.

" Yes, were you not informed? Martha asked.

" Why should they be, it's not like they have children to bring, moreover, it's a party for children and their mothers," Elizabeth answered turning away from my stare.

" And what is that suppose to mean?" Hannah asked with dismay.

" The only people around are those that have children not those cursed," she spoke, smirking.

" Elizabeth, you of all people bring out such a hateful remark?" Hannah looked at her with disgust.

" But she is only saying the truth you know," Marth supported.

" Aren't you two ashamed of yourselves, you are women and you understand our pain very well, so why talk so cheaply?....not just that been my sister's friends, you are like my elder sisters, so why speak so ewe," I spoke shaking fist, as rage filled me.

" Give us a break and stop trying to act like we are been bad, you asked a question, we answered you, so why are you trying to paint us wrong?" Martha aggressively commented.

"and anyways, your sister is a good person, because if I was in her shoes, I would make all your days miserable, home ruiner," Elizabeth finished, rolling her eyes with contempt.

" If it was any sensible person, all that would have been words of wisdom, but since you are just as senseless as the things you say, they leave no impact," Hannah said, pulling me to work away," you should be ashamed of yourselves, grown women with no sense,"

" The truth hates doesn't it?" They shouted but no one turned to look at them.
