Mercedes wrapped her arm around Merlin's as they walked to the castle. Merlin chuckled.
"What are you doing?"
Mercedes smiled.
"I'm walking with my brother. I'm not ashamed to say that I love you."
Merlin shook his head with a chuckle. He pulled Mercedes in for a side hug and kissed the side of her head.
"I will always love you too."
"Kara why are you acting so spooked this morning?"
Kara shook her head no.
"Mordred this is serious. We can't talk about it here. We need to go somewhere private. You said you had a late morning. Please, let's go somewhere and talk."
Mordred turned just as his favorite voice filled his ears. Kara glared watching Mercedes walk arm in arm with her brother Merlin.
"Mercedes..."
Her gaze turned to Mordred and she smiled brightly.
"Good morning, Sir Mordred."
Mordred's frown concerned her deeply. She stepped forward and grabbed his wrist.
"What's wrong?"
Kara closed her fists. Mordred sighed.
"We have a problem... I was wondering if you could come to talk to us about it and sort it out? It's just a misunderstanding..."
Mercedes nodded quickly. Merlin shook his head.
"Of course. Merlin, I'll catch up in a bit. It's alright."
Kara paced nervously after they finally found a quiet place to talk. Mercedes tilted her head.
"Kara, what's wrong?"
Kara turned to Mordred in a panicked state.
"I think someone has figured out that I'm a druid. I've heard talk."
Mordred narrowed his eyes.
"Talk? What do you mean?"
Kara seemed overly frightened. Mercedes narrowed her eyes.
"I think someone might tell Arthur that I'm behind the attacks. I can feel it. I'll be accused."
Mercedes was completely shocked. She couldn't figure out what Kara was trying to do. Mordred gave her a soft smile and grabbed her hand.
"I'm so sorry that you feel a little paranoid... but Kara you're safe. Everything is fine."
Kara's unsettling fear was starting to scare Mercedes as well. Kara frantically shook her head.
"No... I told you I never felt safe here... Someone will tell. I'm sure of it... The only solution to stay safe is for us to run away. To leave Camelot."
Mercedes's fear was on overload.
"You can't leave me!"
Without thinking she grabbed Mordred.
"You can't leave!"
Kara huffed. Mordred stared at Mercedes shocked. Mercedes swallowed the lump in her throat.
"You're a knight... Arthur needs you..."
Kara pulled Mordred away from Mercedes.
"Arthur has plenty of knights."
Mercedes shook her head. She tried to reason with Mordred.
"You swore to protect these people! You can't just leave... These people love you."
