"It feels really weird having a day off. There's always something to be done."
Mordred laughed as he followed Mercedes around the courtyard. He smiled lovingly at Mercedes as she walked ahead of him. Her long hair blew in the breeze. Before speaking, he cleared his throat.
"But aren't you tired?"
Mercedes laughed sarcastically.
"Of practically everything? Yes."
They came to a halt as Percival rushed over to them. He appeared to be ecstatic.
"Mordred! We're all going hunting just for fun. It was Arthur's idea. Are you coming?"
Mordred gave Mercedes a nervous look. She nodded her head and smiled.
"Go."
Mordred's pupils constricted.
"Is this a trap?"
Mercedes kept smiling and shaking her head. She gently nudged him closer to Percival with her hand on his arm.
"It is not a trap. Have some fun. You should spend some time with your own species every now and then. Go do what society expects men to do."
Mordred smiled and drew Mercedes in closer. He leaned in for a passionate kiss.
"OK, I'll see you later."
Mercedes cupped his cheek gently.
"I love you."
Mordred reciprocates her gesture.
"I love you too."
"Mordred! Are you coming, or are you writing poetry about Mercedes today?"
They turned to see Arthur's perplexed expression. Mercedes burst out laughing. When she noticed Merlin, she narrowed her eyes.
"Wait, Merlin's going with you?"
Percival nodded. Mercedes fell into laughter and turned to Mordred.
"Now you absolutely have to go. That way you can tell me how laughable Merlin hunting was."
Mordred chuckled and shook his head. He drew Mercedes in closer for a gentle kiss on the forehead.
"Have a wonderful day, my sweet peach. I'll see you later."
"I'll see you later. Have fun."
Mercedes waved as Mordred pursued Percival. She yelled.
"Arthur, if you get him injured or you lose him..."
Arthur called back.
"Oh, I know! I know, but don't threaten your king!"
Mercedes laughed as she watched them walk away. Abbi walked over slowly.
"So, he's gone for at least a little while..."
Mercedes turned to her and let out a sigh of relief.
"Yes. I mean I love him absolutely more than anything, but I have been dying for a girls' day."
Abbi jumped into the air and smiled excitedly.
"Yes!"
Mercedes smiled at Abbi and took her hand in hers.
"All right, come on."
"Are we going to spend the night somewhere in the castle?"
Mercedes shook her head and continued to pull Abbi along with her.
