Blood-curdling screams filled the streets of Camelot. Mercedes followed a large number of citizens to the scene. Mercedes gasped as a woman set on her knees crying. She was next to her dead husband. The woman's crying eyes peered up at Mercedes. Mercedes gently placed her hand on the woman's shoulder.

"I'll go inform the King. I promise he'll find out who did this."

Mercedes turned to head to the castle and paused. She saw a hooded Kara leaving the scene. There was no emotion on her face. The pure shock on her face turned to anger. She followed Kara. Kara gasped when Mercedes grabbed her and held her the wall of a building. When Kara finally realized who it was, she smirked.

"Why hello Mercedes. Are you having a nice evening?"

Mercedes slammed Kara back into the wall.

"Cut the bullshit! What did that man do?!"

Kara shrugged her shoulder. She continued to smirk. Mercedes clenched her jaw.

"What man?"

"The one you murdered!"

Kara laughed slightly. She tilted her head.

"Oh, that man. He was watching me too hard. I even think he started to follow me. I think I recognized him on the path."

Mercedes narrowed her eyes. She was beyond angry.

"You know Arthur has to know about this man dying right?! He's going to figure out that the murderer is still around! The only new person is you!"

Kara chuckled. She shook her head.

"I thought you didn't want to break his heart?"

Mercedes stepped back and tried to calm herself.

"You are literally the worst girlfriend in the entire universe and he doesn't even know it."

Kara stepped off the wall and stood close to Mercedes. It was evident that Kara was trying to intimidate Mercedes.

"Do you really think that Mordred would even believe you if you told him I did all of these things?"

Mercedes stood her ground. She was completely serious.

"Yes."

Kara was shaken at how quickly Mercedes responded. She knew Mercedes was right. Still, she responded.

"You would still be breaking his heart."

Mercedes threw her hands in the air, enraged. Though the afternoon was turning into evening, Kara could still see the tears in Mercedes eyes, as well as how red her face was. Everything in Mercedes wanted to scream, but she lowered her tone just enough. Her voice was full of anger and heartbreak.

"Do you even realize that you are endangering Mordred?! Do you?! If they catch you, they could attach him to this! They could think he helped you with all of this! Arthur could have him executed along with you!"

The smirk on Kara's face broke Mercedes's heart. Kara laughed before speaking.

"At least you definitely wouldn't be able to have him them."

Mercedes stepped back. Her tears hadn't escaped her eyes, but they were still there. She slowly shook her head.

"This is about me... This is about you trying to get to me... You just don't want me to be close to Mordred..."

Kara's continued smirking was bringing Mercedes a sad realization. Mercedes looked defeated.

"You just broke my heart..."
