Marinette POV
As we made our way to Hawkmoth's castle, I thought about my decision on retiring from being Ladybug and being the guardian.
Have I made the right choice? I glanced at Adrien, though he didn't return my gaze.
"I bet Alex would disagree with us retiring." I said as I leapt over a gap.
"I just don't think it's a good idea. I mean, Paris needs us." Adrien replied.
"Are you sure? Because we seem to cause more problems than fix them? I mean, look what happened last year. I almost killed you and Alex." I replied.
Adrien landed on a roof and glared at me.
"Because it was my fault I never noticed you. And the time after that, I allowed myself to be seduced by Lila. That doesn't mean that we should call in quits." He replied.
I sighed and looked away from Adrien. His glare softened and pulled my chin gently. I gazed at his green eyes.
"I know we screwed up multiple times. But we managed to recover from them, right? With or without the mask,, you're still the everyday Ladybug. And I'm still Chat Noir, Purrincess." He said with a smirk.
I giggled and kissed him.
"You're right. I bet if Alex is here, he'd say we shouldn't quit." I said.
"Yeah. He'd go vigilante on their butts. As he would say." Adrien chuckled.
"We're here." Su-Han said as he perched on the roof and stared at Hawkmoth's castle. The Agreste Manor was replaced by a 50ft tall castle and a flag bearing the symbol of Hawkmoth.
"Back to hell we go." Adrien muttered and tugged on his hood.
"Yeah." I replied as I pulled my scarf.
We jumped of the building and landed in front of the castle entrance. In front was Mayura and a group of akumas. Rogercop, Miraculer, Vex, Guitar Villain and Captain Hardrock smirked and readied their weapons.
"I will deal with Mayura. You two can deal with the akumas." Su-Han said as he readied his staff.
We nodded and raced forward.
Adrien POV
I dodged Guitar Villain's soundwave and kicked him across the face, knocking him out. As Captain Hardrock swung his sword at me, I pulled out my baton and blocked the blade. Marinette kicked her aside and threw Hardrock over her shoulder. Rogercop tried to lock us with his cuff but we dodged. I dropkicked Rogercop in the chest, knocking him to the ground.
"I think we got this." I said as I dodged Vex's energy wave.
"Maybe. But let's not get ahead of ourselves." Marinette replied.
I nodded and continued the fight.
Su-Han POV
I deflected the bladed feathers from Mayura's fan and snapped a kick at her. She swiftly dodged and tried to sweep kick my legs. I jumped and snapped a kick at her face. She blocked the kick and pushed my leg back. I flipped in mid air and landed on my feet.
"Surrender the Peacock miraculous." I commanded as I jabbed my staff at Mayura. She blocked them and kicked me in the face.
"Try and take it from me." She replied and threw her fan at me. I knocked it aside and advanced towards her.
We exchanged blows, dodging and and countering each other. I struck my staff at her leg, forcing her to kneel.
"Call of your akumas and surrender, Mayura." I said as I pointed my staff at her.
She chuckled. I raised an eyebrow.
"What's so funny?" I asked.
"You are so sure of yourself. You think you have won. But you are wrong." She said with a smirk.
Before I could answer, I felt a mace strike me in the temple, knocking me into a wall. I got up and clutched my wounded head and saw Black Bull, smirking at me. Silver Fang lean on the wall next to me.
"Hello again, Old Man." He smirked and stabbed his staff into my leg. I screamed in pain.
"MASTER SU-HAN!" Marinette shouted and rushed towards me, only to get a bladed shield pierced into her side. She fell onto the side. A man in a dark green turtle armour and a matching mask caught his shield and smirked. The woman Volpina appeared next to him and smirked.
"Hello again, Mari-Trash." She said and kicked her wounded side. She coughed. I looked to my right and saw Adrien unconscious and the Cat Miraculous in RogerCop's hand. He gave it to Volpina.
"Looks like we won." Mayura said. The akumas picked us up and took us to see Hawkmoth, who was smirking down at us from his throne.
"Excellent work, Mayura. And my subjects." He said.
"You won't get away with this, Hawkmoth." Adrien growled.
"I believe I just did, son." He replied.
"I'M NOT YOUR SON ANYMORE!" He shouted. Hawkmoth chuckled.
"You're right. You're dead to me. You're execution will take place in a day's time." He said and snapped his fingers. The guards dragged us to the dungeon.
As we were thrown into the dungeon, we saw a girl with blonde hair covered in dirt and blood dressed in a pair of navy blue jeans and black boots. She has a bandage covering her stomach and chest. Her eyes were dull and defeated. Next to her was a man in a tattered suit.
"Tina!" Marinette ran towards the girl and cupped her tear stained cheeks.
"Mayor Andre!" Adrien exclaimed and ran towards the man.
"Marinette. I'm sorry we couldn't help you. Alex is dead. My partner is still brainwashed. We've lost." She said and sobbed in her arms.
"Tina. Alex is alive. But out cold." She said.
"Stop it. Don't lie to me. I know he's dead. I saw everything and his mask is proof of it." Tina replied.
Adrien looked away in defeat. I walked over the the girl and placed a hand on her shoulder.
"Young lady. I can assure you. Your lover is still alive. He will rescue us. I know he will." I said.
The girl didn't respond and continued to sob quietly.
"I can't believe Hawkmoth said that Alex killed you, Mr Mayor." Adrien said.
"Nor can I. Not that even matters." The man replied.
We have lost the battle. Now all we can do is wait.
