Le Loup: Rise of Hawkmoth part 3

Chapter 9: Ambush

Tina POV

As I opened my eyes, I saw the factory. Obviously, it was like every other factory. Large. Has fumes bellowing into the air via the chimney. There was also Hawkmoth's symbol on the roof.

"This must be it." Ivan said.

"Should've guess that he would make a factory." Alex added with disdain.

"Not to mention how many trees he probably cut down just to get the spot." Mylene said as she covered her nose from the smell.

"Guess we'd better get to work." I said as I fired a zipline arrow from the building we are standing to the roof of the factory. We ziplined our way down to the factory and landed on the roof.

We looked down and saw the workers making the rings and placing the akumas inside them. The rings were carried and placed in vans and delivered to Hawkmoth.

"So that's how they're being made." Felix said.

"Those poor workers, being forced to make those rings." Mylene added.

"We'll free them and take down the factory. C'mon." Alex said as he opened the window and allowed us to enter the factory. As we entered the factory, we hid behind a crate and peeked over. 

"Watching over the workers is so boring." A guard yawned as he leaned against the wall.

"Agreed. But Hawkmoth's paying us to keep an eye out for Le Loup and his posse.." Said his friend.

"I'm going to get some drinks. BRB." Said the lazy mercenary and walked away.

We exchanged looks.

"Did Hawkmoth hire mercenaries?" I asked.

"Probably. Some of them are ex-military or cops that have been dishonourably discharged." Alex replied.

"Wasn't Mr Agreste's bank account cleared out and given to Adrien?" Ivan asked.

"Adrien gave some away to an orphanage in London." Felix replied.

"Too bad his father didn't do the same when he got resurrected." I muttered.

"Resurrected?" Mylene asked.

"We'll talk later." Alex said and snuck up behind the mercenary. Before the mercenary could react, Alex fired a crossbow bolt at his neck. The man slumped onto the ground, unconscious. He dragged him and placed him in a crate and locked it.

"What was that?" Felix asked.

"Sleeping bolt. He'll be out in for a while." Alex replied.

As we quietly made our way through the factory, knocking out the guards and freeing the workers. After we finished. We placed the explosives all over the factory. 

"Time to go." Felix said as he made his way to the exit, only to get a red shield slammed into his face. He collapsed on to the ground, out cold.

"Felix!" I exclaimed and propped him against the wall.

"Going somewhere?" A voice called out. The boy was wearing a crimson ninja top with a black belt across his waist, matching red trousers and black trainers. His mask and shield were also red.

"Nino?" Alex gasped.

"Carapace?" Felix asked.

"Neither. It's Shell Shock." Nino replied and swung his shield at me. I quickly stepped back, only to be grabbed by a man in an owl suit.

"Got you." The man sneered.

I  grunted and squirmed as I tried to free myself. Alex ran towards me, only to be intercepted Luka, who was wearing a black and grey snake jumpsuit.

"Not again." Alex sighed as he evaded Luka's spear.

Mylene and Ivan had their hands full with Reflekta and Lady Wifi. I managed to headbutt Dark Owl in the face and free myself. 

"They knew we were here." Alex said as we stood back to back.

"You get points for finding out Mayor Hawkmoth's secret weapon. Too bad you won't leave her alive." Shell Shock chuckled.

"Damn it, Nino! Hawkmoth is brainwashing you! Take off that ring!" Alex shouted.

"Come and take it, Wolfie." Nino taunted. The two darted towards each other and exchanged blows.

"Mylene. Ivan. Deal with Shadow Serpant and Reflekta. I'll deal with Dark Owl and Lady Wifi." I said and pulled out my folding staff.

The couple nodded and prepared to fight. 

Alex POV

I deflected Shell Shock's tonfa blows and dodged a kick to my face. Seeing his guard is down, I backflipped kicked him in the chin, sending him flying into the air. Shell Shock flipped and landed on his feet and threw his shield at me. 

"Holy-!" I exclaimed and ducked under the shield. Knowing too well it will return to him, I threw a flash pellet at his feet, blinding him. The shield spun towards me, I kicked it towards Shell Shock, knocking him out.

"Sorry, dude." I said as I took of his ring and stomped on it. The akuma tried to escape, but I threw my throwing knife at it, pinning it to the wall. After taking the unconscious Nino to safety, I joined in the fight. 

Tina POV

I kicked Lady Wifi aside and focused on Dark Owl. He glared at me and threw two boomerangs at me. I spun my staff and blocked them and darted towards him. As we exchanged blows, I saw Alex from the corner of my eye running to my aide. 

"Not so fast, Pup!" Lady Wifi shouted and fired a lock symbol at Alex, who dodged it and focused on her.

I continued to fight Dark Owl, dodging his blows and striking him.  Dark Owl threw orange powder at my face, blinding me. As I tried to regain my vision, Dark Owl kicked me in the torso, sending me flying into a crate. 

"Ouch." I grunted and got back to my feet. Dark Owl snapped a kick at me again. I quickly intercepted the kick with my staff and pole vaulted over him. As I landed, I drew my bow and putty arrow and fired it at him, immobilising him on the spot. As he struggled to move, I fired another arrow at him, breaking the ring on his finger. The akuma flew out of the broken ring and tried to escape. I fired an arrow at the butterfly, killing it.

Alex patted me on the shoulder. 

"Nice work." He said.

"Where's Alya?" I asked. He pointed to the unconscious Alya. Next to her was the broken ring.

"She was tough. Even without the aid of a miraculous." Alex said. We saw Mylene and Ivan running towards us.

"You two ok?" I asked. They nodded and pointed at Juleka, who is unconscious.

"We broke the ring but the akuma got away. As for the sentimonster and Shadow Serpent, they've retreated." Ivan said as he nursed his broken arm.

"Most likely to report to their boss. Let's head back and rest." Alex said. We nodded and picked up Felix, Juleka, Principle Damocles ,Nino and Alya and left the factory. As we looked at the factory, Alex pushed the detonator. The explosives went off and destroyed the factory.

"Good riddance. Hopefully we'll find Ladybug and fix this mess." I said. 

Mylene and Ivan stayed silent.

"What is it?" Alex asked.

"Let's head back first, we've got company." Ivan said and pointed at the armed mercenaries. Alex quickly added the coordinates of his house and activated the teleporter, sending us back to the warehouse.
