Marinette POV
Max and I entered the portal leading to Hawkmoth's office.
"The others said they'll keep a look out for the guards. But we better be quick." Max said as he rifled through the desk.
I nodded and searched the bookshelf.
The plan was to find proof that we didn't kill Mayor Andre and to find out how Hawkmoth is able to control Paris. Max turned on the computer.
"A code, huh? Alright. Time to do my thing." He said and linked the computer to his phone. As he tried to break the code, I pulled a book from the shelf, only to find a hidden entrance. As I walked down the staircase, I found a man with grey messy hair. His white shirt is covered in dirt and blood.
"Mayor Bourgeois?" I gasped and knelled next to him.
"Marinette? Is that you?" He asked.
I nodded and attempted to break the chains.
"How are you even alive? They said my friends and I killed you." I said.
"Hawkmoth only said that just so that he can frame you for my murder. It was the sentimonsters who kidnaped me and made it look like I was murdered by your hands." He said.
"Well, it's time we show the world that Hawkmoth is wrong." I said.
"I'm afraid I'm going to have to disagree, milady." Adrien's voice said behind me. I looked back and gasped.
Adrien is in his Chat Noir persona but his clothes are white instead of black. He twirled his baton and smirked. I noticed Max unconscious and in his civilian form.
"Don't worry, Milady. I didn't hurt him. Now, sleep." He said and blew sleeping powder in my face. I coughed and stumbled to regain my balance.
And then, everything turned black.
When I came too, I found myself chained to a wall. Hawkmoth stood in front of me with a smile.
"I know what you did, Hawkmoth." I said.
"But the world doesn't. I plan to keep it that way." He replied.
"Sir, we found Alexander but he defeated us. He's coming to France." Shadow Fang said.
Hawkmoth's sighed angrily.
"You failed me. But I'll give you a chance to redeem yourself, Sliver Fang. Take Lady Wifi, Volpina and Reverser with you." Hawkmoth said.
"Yes sir." He said and disappeared.
"As for you, Marinette." He turned to me and force a ring on to my ring finger. I suddenly went limp and stared back at him with blank eyes.
"Welcome back, Dark Bug.." He said as he freed me from my chains.
"At your service, My Lord." I said as I bowed.
