An Awkward Conversation

The next morning I got up early, changing into something a lot less see through.

I was trying to cover my body as much as possible, and using one of Evan's old shirts seemed like the best way to do it as it was absolutely huge on me

I was trying to cover my body as much as possible, and using one of Evan's old shirts seemed like the best way to do it as it was absolutely huge on me.

While Tom didn't specifically ask me to wear something less revealing, I had to have what I assumed would be a really awkward conversation with Brax and I didn't want to give off mixed signals by wearing something low cut or that accentuated anything in particular.

After getting dressed, I decided to make Tom breakfast. He's still not used to me cooking for him, but I wanted to try something new and I figured it'd be a nice change in our morning routine.

I brought him his breakfast on a little tray. I hadn't made much, at least not compared to what I grew up having on the table every morning.

I'd made eggs, pancakes with fresh fruit, bacon, and toast.

I put the tray on his nightstand in order to wake him up.

I didn't want to just shake him awake, I wanted to make sure he had a good start to his day.

I leaned down and kissed him on the cheek, which seemed to work but he was still half asleep and had his eyes closed.

"I made you breakfast" I whispered

"It's too early for this Y/N"

"It's 7.... You normally get up around this time anyway."

"Yeah? Well I don't want to get up, I don't even have a meeting today. I'm allowed to lay in bed for half the day."

"You are, but I can still bring you food"

He groaned in irritation

"Fine! I'll get up! I don't want to hear the awkward conversation you're supposed to have today anyway! I need to figure out what I want to do though....."

He sat up and looked at the tray on his nightstand and smiled at me.

"I have an idea" I replied, placing the tray over his lap.

"And what's that?"

"You could find me something pretty"

"Something pretty?" He was making it obvious that he was confused

"Yes, something pretty. Shiny, sparkly, preferably something you've picked out yourself"

"Ok? If you want jewelry I'm the wrong person to ask."

"I have a promise to keep Tom, and I apparently need an object to fulfill that. I'd prefer something cute, something I could wear once in a while."

"Really? What promise would that be?"

He had a huge grin on his face, he knew what I was talking about.

"You know what promise love, don't be like that. I told you I'd make one, and I'm going to. You said I need an object, I want it to mean something to me. That's why I'm asking you to find something, 'objects' mean more when they're gifts."
