The Park

There were some places Titus loved. Other places Damian loved. Titan loved every place he was brought so he doesn't really count but Garret hated most places. But on this particular day he despised the park the most. Most times he could get out of going to the park. He was a ferret, you don't bring ferrets to the park. That is, unless a big stupid dog carries you into the car to where you are forced to go.

Another reason Garret disliked Titan. He always wanted Garret to be involved too, like what he liked, do things he did.

So what does a ferret do at the park while the other dogs run off to play with dogs or pee on trees repeatedly? Well, first they liked to glare at Titan then they would find other things to occupy themselves until it was time to go.

Garret did like climbing the trees when he grew bored of moping on Damian's shoulders, of course the squirrels were unbelievably daft. They talked about ways to make the dogs go crazy. Some of their tricks were absolute genius, others were just petty and done millions of times.

So Garret moved on he found the rats that lived in the trash but they weren't worth his precious time.

It was times like these that Garret wondered why he even stayed in the manor. Of course he loved and respected Damian to death but the price of dealing with all of the animals Damian loved to death was proving to be quite a sacrifice on Garret's part. Once Garret was was living like a king.

Before he came to live with Damian he had been quite literally living with the king. Garret came from a long line of royalty. Before he came to be at this lowly city he was sitting on the lap of prince Elroy in a jungle castle, being fed cold meat and grapes while someone fanned him. Then he was stolen in the dead of night and shipped off to the states sold by person to person until he finally escaped. He somehow ended up in the dumps of Gotham. For a long time he didn't find anyone until he found some large muscular guy which he found out later was a villain who went by Bane. Being his pet was fine except the entertainment made no sense, the smell was atrocious, and him being a villain as painfully obvious. Maybe a month of living with Bane Batman and Robin showed up. Garret felt no guilt in hitch hiking back with them. Ever since than Damian had taken care of him, he did seem like the better option rather then rot in jail with Bane.

That was when it was just Garret, Batcow, Goliath, and Titus. Garret could stand Titus who hardly bothered him but then the other animals started coming and didn't seem to stop. Soon there was hardly any room left on the bed and Garret didn't like that one bit!

And moments such as these when some dog drags you out to a park that you had no intentions on going to.

Garret walked across the gate looking around for something to do, something to entertain himself with. He supposed he should do something to burn calories, he felt like he was gaining weight. Ugh, the thought of running around and getting all hot didn't sound appealing either. Never mind, he'd just lose weight tomorrow. He was starting to think maybe he wasn't a ferret at all but maybe just a cat. He wouldn't mind being a cat if he couldn't be a ferret. Ferrets were the best animal there could possibly be, all others were just extra, not cats, cats could come second he supposed.

Garret sat down and looked out at the dogs running around. He spot Titan, digging a hole with another dog and Titus. What did dogs find so interesting about digging? They looked full of energy as they dog and sniffed each other at random moment, looking up when a new dog entered the park. All of their energy made me feel exhausted.

"Hey! Hey squirrel!" A squeaky voice called behind Garret. He glanced behind himself to see a large rat, or maybe a horribly gone wrong cat? No, no it didn't look like a cat. Was it a racoon? Either way, whatever it was it was staring right at him.
