Koti POV

The following morning, I was woken up by the goddamn alarm. I groaned and rolled over, glad there wasn’t another naked body in my bed again.

I rolled off my bed, the hard fall waking me up easily.

“Fuck.” I groaned. That hurt today.

I walked over and opened my closet and pulled out my café uniform- the drab grey shirt, my red skirt and an overly shabby pair of converse and threw my hair up into a red ponytail.

I grumpily stomped out to the kitchen and grabbed an up and go for breakfast. Dean and Louis were both eating some toast and drinking tea having a good old morning chat.

“Morning Koti.” Dean said. I scowled for no apparent reason.

“Morning Deano,” I greeted huskily back. “Morning Bother.” I said looking at Louis. He raised an eyebrow.

“Is that the best one you can come up with?” he asked with a chuckle. I rolled my eyes.

“At this time of the morning, yes.”

I grabbed my bag and shoved some keys, a sweater, my glasses and an apology note I written for Marvin to suck up to him and make sure I kept my job. I didn’t need Louis finding out and then feeling sorry for me.

“She’s not a morning person.” Dean explained. Louis laughed. I scowled again and then slung my bag over my shoulder. I walked over and hit dean over the head.

“See you later loser.” I said to him with a wink. I high-fived Lou on the way out and left my apartment feeling full of swag.

As I lazily walked to the bus stop, I had a bit of a skip to my step, and realised I was in a good mood for the first time in ages. I laughed to myself at a funny joke, and I didn’t tell off the noisy school kids like I usually do. They didn’t call be dragon lady either.

I sat in my normal seat on the bus, and scrolled through my phone. I had various unread messages from people because this was the first time I could actually be bothered communicating with people. I started with the most recent.

From: MEXICAN MAN

Hey Koti, I was just wondering if you wanted to catch dinner one day?

The last text took me by surprise.

I stared at it for a good ten minutes.

What the hell?

I began to type out a reply.

Mexican Man!

Nope.

Taco my man!

Nope.

Hey Taco, sure thing, I’d love too. When were you thinking?

There we go. Smooth Koti smooth.

I am the master of smoothness.

As I beamed, the bus arrived at Bondi and I stood to get off. However, as I walked down the stairs, a massive group of girls swarmed an area near the bus and knocked me over and I ended up face planting on the sidewalk. I moaned as the bus drove off and as I tasted concrete.
