I threw my phone across the front yard and it smashed onto the apartment buildings brick wall into a thousand pieces. I never knew that calling someone from my past life would have such an impact on me but it did- I screamed bloody murder. Lilli came running out to me, absolutely panicked.
"Koti! What is going on?!" She yelled over my high pitched, glass shattering cry. "KOTI!" She yelled. I closed my mouth and looked at Lilli ashamed.
She knows how dramatic I get, and it was obvious this was something to do with my family.
"Louis." I whispered. My voice was now incredibly hoarse, but Lilli understood immediately.
"Come inside Koti." She said. Lilli guided me into our apartment, past a confused Dean, and into my bedroom. I lay down and curled up on my bed, pulling the covers over my head and burying myself in my feelings.
"Koti, can you please tell me what is going on?" Lilli asked. I curled up tighter in my bed, just wanting to be alone. Lilli wouldn't let off though.
"Koti please. I can't help if I don't know what is going on." She pressed. I decided to save myself the pain of having to put up with her constant questions and uncurled myself from my warm bed. I sat up and sighed.
"Louis called me the other day. I called him back... and Harry picked up." I explained. Lilli took my hand.
"Oh wow." She exclaimed. I nodded.
"I know."
"Do you want them back in your life Koti?" Lilli inquired. I shrugged.
"I have no idea Lilli. I don't know what I want to be honest." I admitted. She wrapped her arms around me in a huge Lilli hug.
"Don't worry about it bub please. If Lou really wants to contact you and see you again, he will pull out all stops and you know that don't you?" Lilli said. I blushed and nodded. "Good. Louis probably wants his twin back in his life Koti. I know it was hard before, but you were so much younger then, and I think now you will be able to deal with it." She reassured me.
"Thanks Lilli." I said gratefully. "I think I'll just wait it out. I miss my brother yes, but I think he can try to make the effort to be the better sibling this time." I said with a wink. Lilli laughed.
"There's the Koti I know. Now no more screaming?"
I coughed. "Nope... I think my voice is dead from it." I said with a chuckle. Lilli rolled her eyes.
"Only you Koti. Now, Dean and I were thinking of going out tonight. Will you be alright by yourself?" She asked me. I nodded.
"I should be, I guess." I confirmed. Lilli smiled.
"Good. Maybe you could call some of your friends over?" She suggested. I thought about it. It would be very good to say hi to Taco or Inky. They're very nice... but Maxi seemed to understand me... but maybe I should open up to some new people... Anthony was nice...
"I think I'll call Ink- Jesse, I mean." I said with a silly grin. Lilli winked.
"You like him." She stirred.
"NO!" I yelled. "I don't want a boyfriend!"
"Chill out Koti!" Lilli said, putting her hands up in surrender. "You're so dramatic."
I flicked my hair. "I know."
Lilli giggled and stood up. "I think it's time that I went and got ready. Why don't you give Jesse a call?" Lilli said, leaving my room. I nodded.
"I would but I just smashed my phone..." I said shyly. Lilli rolled her eyes for like the third time.
She has an even worse eye-rolling problem than me!
She threw her phone at me.
"Use that. We'll buy a new one tomorrow." She said, finally leaving my room. I grinned and found Jesse's number, I wondered how Lilli got it, but it hurt my brain too much, so I just dialled the number.
It rung forever the first time, so I hung up. Two minutes later, Jesse called me back. I debated actually answering the phone, and decided to answer it in a funny accent.
"Heyloo?" I greeted.
"Um, hi. Someone called me from this number?" Jesse said across the line, sounding extremely confused.
"Ya, I did, I vanted to know if yous vanted the pizza?" I acted out.
"Is this a prank call?" Jesse asked. I didn't want him to hang up, so I began to talk normally.
"No Inky it's me." I said.
"Sorry I don't know any Me." Jesse teased. I rolled my eyes.
I guess I have a problem with the eye-rolling too...
"It's Koti." I said dead-pan.
"Oh right. Hi Koti!" He perked up.
"What's going on Inky?" I asked. I could practically hear him shrug.
If that's possible.
"Not much actually. This isn't your number- whose phone are you calling from?" he inquired.
"Lilli's." I answered.
"Why?"
"Because I had an issue with a tantrum and a brick wall." I explained. Jesse laughed at me and I pouted. "Not funny Inky."
"It's very funny Koti." He chortled.
"Nah uh."
"Uh huh."
"Nah uh."
"Uh huh."
"NAH UH INKY!" I yelled.
"Chill out! I was just kidding!" Jesse shot back defensively.
"Sorry."
"Why did you call?" He asked, frustrated with me. I frowned- did I make Inky mad?
"I was wondering... well actually it doesn't even matter anymore." I said casually.
"What were you going to say Koti?" Jesse practically growled.
"I was wondering if you wanted to come over to my apartment and chill out." I said. Jesse immediately perked up.
"Sure. When?" He asked eagerly.
"Now. Lilli and Dean are going out. I'm gonna be here eat ice cream like a downer otherwise." I told him.
"I'll bring some Ben & Jerry's and we can be downers together?" Jesse suggested.
"Sure thing!" I said enthusiastically.
"See you in 5 Koti."
"BYE INKY!"
I hung up the phone and ran to my closet. I looked at my current attire- my work uniform. I shook my head. This will not do, I told myself.
So, I grabbed the first pair of tracksuit pants I saw, which happened to be a vomit yellow from me wearing them so much, and a hideous black shirt that must have come from Lilli's wardrobe but I pulled it on anyway. Then I shoved my flaming red hair into a bun and walked out of my bedroom. Lilli and Dean were just about to leave.
"We're out Koti." Dean said with a wave.
"Bye guys." I replied with a smile.
"Have fun with Jesse!" Lilli said with a wink again. I stuck up the finger.
"Shut up."
Lilli had got to be crazier than me if she thought Jesse would ever fall for me.
